selling limits - below standard please help
 

Got my account in below standard due to some defects.
Almost 50% of those defects happened because i used "eBay vacation mode".
Off course i did not know but that was a very bad mistake , this vacation mode does not mean anything.
I went on that forced vacation due to a death in my family and had to travel overseas.

Tried to appeal to ebay for few times but got denied.
I had an unlimited acc and now its limited to 300,000 which is way below what i used and i was in a middle of growing my business with adding 40 items daily.
Now im in a position that im stock.
Any suggestions, please!!!!!

That is still one heck of a decent limit.

You will have to concentrate on selling items and getting good solid DSR and feedback and it is possible that eBay will increase your limits again in time.

Welcome to the forums. As James said, still a nice limit to have and consider yourself lucky not to be suspended (yet...because you never know).

WOW u get limited but your still able to list 300,000 ! I mean seriously that's one heck of a limited account, this forum will be full of people who would have loved to be limited to a fraction of that, believe me when I say YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS !!

The great news is that you are on a three month review. That horrible news is that if they cut your sales down to the point you can not get enough transactions to offset those defects, it is a downward spiral.

i sell in the usa from FL and i cut my advertized product in 80%.
have 3 employees.
huge warehouse.
will go under water soon

My projected is above standard but the problem is that lets say that all will go good until march. and ebay will (if im lucky) raise my account by 100%. it is still going to take more than a year to recoup from that.

I was below standard by 3 defects
and with the death in my familiy i tought that they will revise it.but no luck

you might have around 30days to reduced your defects below 5% from wherever it is now or who will be banned for life. I was a top rated bronze power seller before August 20. Sept and Oct I was waived from below standard because I was top rated seller for 3 consective months.

Nov. 20 review I hit below standard and on Dec 5 they slashed my limits from 300/month to 60/month and I had over 250 unique listings at the time. I started selling off inventory w/ most of my listing at $0.99cents to reduce defect%. I went from 18.18% to 5.3%. 32day later I couldn't make below 5% defect and on Jan 8, a wee all my listing were de activated an they sent me an email saying I ruin buying experiences. what's worst was all this was automated.

I am familiar with what you are going through. Very similar numbers and a lot more mouths on the line.

What were your limits before they were cut?
As a general rule ebay will only raise your limits by 30% a month when you become above standard and always make you meet or exceed them to do that.

As ridiculous as this is going to sound to you and it sounded impossible to me when I first came to this forum one of the things you should be focusing on IMO anyways is opening more accounts.
Buy them if needed. when we talk about selling big volumes on big accounts, 100 items and $5000.00 limits seem useless but 10 of those accounts and learn to exceed those limits is a HUGE cushion and extra security.

Most of us would like to have 1-2 big accounts , But you are sitting on a time bomb. once day you can get suspended for life.
Sometimes it goes like a hammer in a second, sometimes you see it comming like oP.
Sometimes you fight for few months, visiting your doctor for medicine and stil got hammered in the end.
Having few accounts mskes you work harde to spend time on switching, creating different listing and so on.
But you sleep better as you know few bad buyers or EB's unpredictable moves will not kill you in a day.

The main thing here being that it is not just platinum power sellers who go through this, we all do to varying degrees, it is as important to us when an account goes down because that bit of income acquired and hard earned is needed by us as well, everyone wants that extra bit of cushioning to the stresses of life that earning on online sites can bring and we don't want to lose it either!

Now, im after another 2 hour phone conversation with ebay and i think it was the last one.

In regards to opening few accounts:
What do i need to know?
i read things about ip adress cookies , physical adress etc....

I dont want to do mistakes

Start improving those # fast because after 2 weeks of my account being reduced they suspended my account. Start selling more and get the feedback so the% will decrease. Even if you don't get feedback your default will be calculated on the amount of sales and this will reduce the %.
My account was at $150,000 when they suspended me and it was the first time I was below average.

You have a 300,000K limit and that is not enough??????

Then you better start making accounts 24hours a day, because if/when that account goes down....you're going to want to find tall building to jump off of......

You need about 1,000 new accounts, which sounds incredible........

Very easy solution, once you learn stealth you can have 100s of accounts, than if one goes down you don't have to worry about your whole business being in jeopardy.

We all want to be perfectionist but things happen we don't expect, treasure your 300k limit for now..
