When I signed up a few days ago it said there were 400+ members. I saw the thread about them started in July/07. So 400+ members in 8+ months?????

Triflin 02-06-2008 09:38 PM

From the boards there you can tell that it got off to a rather rocky start and the plug was pulled by one of the site owners. I think that is why the low number you see. I was basically counting the new welcomes on one of their forums within the last 24 hours (over 45). Thats not bad really.

Just my thought.

Aspkin I disagree on that one..LOL How your gonna have buyers with no sellers?? What are they gonna buy??

If you have tons of sellers the site will get more traffic pointed towards it and more sellers will advertise their stores so the word will get out

ebayhateluv 02-06-2008 10:31 PM

Chris...OMG, Fundamental... Supply + Demand..
WHY do we ALL want to go on ebay because there are so many Sellers on there??
NO, because so many BUYERS..sorry--2 to 1..:))

Seriously, when you open a New Real Estate Brokerage, theres PLENTY of Inventory all the time..what do you need??

When you open a new web site--who are you targeting traffic for??

A FLOOD of Buyers, will start depleting the Inventory..how long (in seconds, or minutes)...do you think folks will start Jumping ship to unload their goods??

Sophisticated_Rednek 02-06-2008 10:36 PM

You've been welcomed at eEaey

ebayvictim you have been formally welcomed by the Rednek at eWaey.

Triflin - I welcomed you already, the day I saw your name over at eWaey.

It's GREAT to have you both.

Stan - the other Rednek

Without sellers there would be no buyers. If there was no sellers on Ebay would buyers even think about coming to the site.

Now if there was a ton of sellers with excellent cheap prices on Ebay everybody(buyers) would flock there because word of mouth and seller advertising there E-stores....Internet Selling is a little diffrent then physical stores

Seriously would you go to a MAll if there was no sellers there or not a large diversity of products and sellers there???

Exactly

Hello!

Nice to see so much interest on eWaey.com.

I want to answer a few of the questions above.

Regarding getting new buyers; Yes that is a very hard thing to do. But you need to start with the sellers.

1) Educate the sellers.

a) Get the sellers to improve on TRUST by getting them to be verified, open up a store and get their FEEDBACKS started by purchasing from other sellers.
( this will automatically start a buying and selling cycle within the site.)

This is a constant objective that never ends since the site keeps getting new sellers. We need to keep educating.

b) Get the site's content up and constantly increasing. Since the site is free for the first 5000 members; The sellers have a chance to create content. Content is the only thing that will keep a COLD BUYER on the site. I call it cold buyer because he or she joins the site and buys the item right there!
Cold buyers are the hardest thing to get since the sites need to have the item he or she is looking for and the SELLERS need to have their feedbacks and be verified, plus have a good amount of items listed.

We are doing just that.

c) advertisements. We are going to start advertising on google and yahoo once the site and the sellers are prepared. Its like getting the shuttle ready for launch.

d) Promotion purchasing. This is an idea of mine. Sellers that would purchase 3 or more items within a months period would get a free banner advertisement on all eWaeys categories and forums. This way other sellers and cold buyers would see this particular sellers banners that would direct them straight to the sellers store or auctions.

e) Teams. We are preparing and getting teams ready around the world to spread about eWaey.com. Blogs, Forums, Myspace, Facebook, Squidoo,Emails and other ways.

These are only some of the ideas we are now putting to practice. I intend to get TV ads in the future. But that requires alot of money.

To really get things going you should setup an affiliate system so that publishers have the initiative to promote your site. That'll bring a lot of cheap traffic fast. Offer your new signups an affiliate URL which they can put on their personal sites, Myspace, forums, etc. Don't even ask new signups, automatically sign them up to your affiliate system, give them the URL and some details about what you offer them, and you might be surprised at how many people will promote your site. Good luck.

Boy- Very Cavalier , ASpkin... :)

Now, how many People will let someone come onto their site, advertise Their Business + then HELP them with Good, Viable Suggestions??
Nice Guy..Aspkin is.. :)

mantisinc 02-09-2008 09:44 AM

Looks like it could have potential. The only thing that puts me off is PHPprobid. If you could reskin it to make it look unique, I think it would be fantastic.

But seems that to many auction sites that I have come across that are powered by PHPpro have that skin.

Nice work though :)

ivegotinfo 02-09-2008 01:08 PM

cool, just made an account.

ebayhateluv 02-09-2008 01:12 PM

Hey, I did also.. We should ask the Ewaey guy-- if we all pm him, we need to have lifetime IMMUNITY..should they get big and the Trust + Safety folks from ebay come over there to work in the next few years....
so- our accts NEVER can be suspended.......:))
-we would be grandfathered under the Founders Clause :))

alexsandro pomposelli 02-10-2008 07:13 AM

Hello

Yes we re-skin is in the future.
Yes once you are a preferred seller with us it is FOREVER. 100% free. You guys will be eWaey's base and we need that. We need you! We need you to list like the wind.
Regardin Phpprobid... We did experiment with RSCRIPT. It did not do what we expected. Phpprobid is by far the most complete script. Its not perfect but we are designing the things that are not perfect to be perfect. For example. It does not support GOOGLE BASE. We just got that in last week. Our PHP designer put that in for us. Anything that is needed will be done.
It also has the ability to generate one invoice for multiple sales which RSCRIPT does not. Plus it has alot of features that is not in RSCRIPT. Our PHP coder also created our EWAEY BASE feature in our forums. This feature is a tremendous and powerful feature. It gives our forum content and all your listings will show in search Google and the worldwide web.
We just hired a PHP coder and we also have a graphic designer. We are about to change a few things on the front page and we just got 5 new banners.
Yes we will be doing banner exchange. We will also have banners on our google adwords ads.
Any questions please feel free to ask.

eWaey is not my site only. It is the members and we need more associates, people willing to help.

eWaey's president.

ebayhateluv 02-10-2008 12:31 PM

Alex: Question... Anything in the wind to replace Paypal??
--The Limitatins are getting crazy.. Many folks did not have a good Christmas, as Paypal had their funds held, I hear of folks getting thrown out of their apts because they spent all of there available cash on product, then sold most of it, now the proceeds are tied up in pp..
--So, Whats in store for Sellers, anything?? Any new Alliances to process pyts?
Thanks Bunches :)

ebayvictim 02-10-2008 10:58 PM

Yes, its called get your own MERCHANT ACCOUNT

insertionfee 02-11-2008 05:31 AM

There is a section on ewaey where you can setup your direct payment method, authorize.net and some others.

ytl 02-11-2008 06:50 AM

buyer stats

Do ewaey publish buyer stats?

Rather than just measuring how many listings are up, could we measure how many listings are bought? Numbers or buys, and percentage of listings would be great. Also traffic stats in general.

Even if they aren't amazing statistics, we can watch them grow over time, present them with a time graph, and we can easily see growth.. I think that would help me a lot to get involved with ewaey, not necessarily high numbers but an indication of buyer market growth. Break the numbers into categories, and represent them on time graphs, and we can not only see growth but trends.

I think if we can judge the rate of growth, we can priorities ewaey accordingly, and decide when would be a good time for us to begin listing. This would mean that we don't all jump at the same time, but that doesnt really matter because success is measured far more by buyers than sellers.

Naturally, any seller knows that there will probably be dips and rises in buyer activity, particularly on a seasonal basis and that kind of transparency would certainly reflect the proposition that ewaey will be maintaining a strong channel of communication between themselves and sellers.

Well.. thats all I have to say I think

Little do the owners of Eway know, we can actually be the ones to blow Eway and make it grow fast

Really? Come on. I truly wish them the best of luck, but there chances are slim and none, and slim just left town.

Gotta THINK Positive.... If youve ever owned your own business before- invested every dime, then borrowed off your credit cards to float it for several months, just start to pick up business, then a Major chain store selling your same goods moves in town... you STILL gotta think positive.. :))

Hello

Yes we have a project called payway.com and it is one of our future objectives to have our own paypal like site.

Yes we want all of you to join! Lets make eWaey HUGE!

Alex

twdell 02-12-2008 01:44 PM

can i list adult material on your site?

alexsandro pomposelli 02-14-2008 06:47 PM

I have to talk to the other managers at eWaey.com. You may join and present your case and category suggestions. I can say this right off the bat; If eWaey allows you to list that type of items it will be only viewed by 21 and older.
Anyway; You will need to talk to the other associates regarding that. I am the president but eWaey is now currently managed by a board of 10 people. This way we can all shake our heads at something in a way that it wouldnt be unfair to anyone.
We are now developing our own SAFE HARBOR DEPT. This will be a team of people that will look, verify and analise any problems that may come up within our community in respect of purchases, sales and other stuff. They will vote on decisions. It will not be just one persons opinion.

Alex

ebayhateluv 02-14-2008 06:53 PM

Safe harbor put me here... in the Underground, with 2- 40 foot trailers of merchandise to sell... after a 10 year stint.... :))

Triflin 02-14-2008 07:06 PM

Sheesh, do you have to name it the same thing that ebay calls theirs?? Can't you at least be creative. Ebay sucks....don't try to clone it.

Lisa B 02-15-2008 05:05 PM

I guessed I missed it on their website but where is eWaey.com located and what is their physical address?
There isn't much on their ABOUT US or CONTACT US pages

GreenBean 02-15-2008 06:04 PM

FYI. Look at powersellersunite web. There is information to consider.

alexsandro pomposelli 02-16-2008 06:26 AM

No. We are not going to clone it. No intentions to. But we need a panel where all the problems can get directed to and have fair resolutions. That is just an idea.
No we are not going to be like ebay or anything close to it in terms of fairness we are with you guys on your side.
thank you

alexsandro pomposelli 02-16-2008 06:31 AM

Yes Greenbeen PSU hates us. They hate us for our ideas and for our determination.
We were discriminated and treated very unfair. Most of the posters there are site owners and they are bias and control the boards.
We did not do anything bad and they are lying about ewaey to the point of no respect.
We always tried to get a better script and never ever did the things they are talking about.
We did shut down once due to the problem that we cannot charge anything and now with our new plan things are different. Much different.
PSU is a bias forum and does not consider the small and starting sites. Not fair at all.
But you can join ewaey if you want to. No one is telling anyone that they have an obligation.
Just look at the ideas and objectives of each alternative site. Choose the one you feel more confident and go for it.
Thank you.

alexsandro pomposelli 02-17-2008 08:04 PM

We just added more features that will help buyers find your items and also to navigate the site. We are also in the process of giving the forums area a super upgrade. All for you the member!
thanks
Alex

alexsandro pomposelli 02-19-2008 08:57 PM

in2ford 02-21-2008 11:48 PM
