Will using the same wifi link accounts?

I have a question about etsy but Im pretty sure it would work pretty much the same. My old roommate sold on etsy and her shop was suspended. My other roommate has since tried several times to open an account (to make purchases) since then but keeps getting suspended and told there is a link to a suspended account. She was using the same wifi, address, and our old roommate often logged on using her laptop. If I try to sign up and use our wifi, but use a computer I recently purchased and my brothers address would I still be linked? We have AT&T u verse if it matters and can't switch because it's the only one we fount that covers our apt

Same WiFi will have the same IP if the IP has not been changed which will cause a link.

Look at dongles.

Have just replied to someone else in a similar position to you, where the commenter had logged into someone elses's device that had been banned and then when he went home and logged into his account it was suspended as well, because the link had been caused and eBay had picked up on it straight away. You will have the same IP address as your old roommate, although you have a new computer the links will still be there. Apartment buildings are known to be problematic as well because of the changing occupiers who can have had banned accounts that newer residents know nothing about.

Always check your IP before going on the account - you need different dynamic IP - dongle, mobile phone tethering - few examples that work

Suspended friend uses other friends laptop....thats asking for trouble. Same wifi isnt an issue IF the modem/router issues dynamic IPs. If its static IP, its a no go. With a new computer, new account and NOT using the SAME home address, you can get off without being suspended. HOWEVER, you must have dynamic IP...if not, youre going to have to find a way to get another IP address. Dongle as suggested, tethering, etc.

How do you know if your router has a static or dynamic IP address?
