YIPEEEE Just created a seller account with the information aspkin wrote down....

I am a UK resident and followed aspkins instructions.

FIRST STEP THE CREDIT CARD VERIFICATION I had to get the virtual pre paid credit card....did this via Welcome to EntroPay! it took just 2 days for the verification to come through, it worked no problem on ebay straight away with the genuine card number, valid from, valid to numbers and a bogus 3 digit security code....

NEXT STEP THE BANK DETAILS I then did the old swapping a few numbers on the old bank account but kept the genuine same sort code and bank address in case they try to link it just changed my real account number to a made up one....

I put a number on my street 8 more than mine that doesn't exist, kept the same postcode, which it would be, that covers the IP address and used a different made up user name and my mobile number which has never been linked to my suspended ebay account.

All good so far, the next step is, when do I start posting listings without being too suspicious and too keen !!!????

Would you purchase a few different items first (email items i.e. ebooks or guides) or would you just list one large item for sale and see how it goes ???

Any help would be most appreciated as don't want to F**K this up this time I need the cash....!!

you should stick 5 - 10 small things on from around the house that you know will sell - like cd's or dvd's. put them on for a week auction and you'll be up and running again in no time.

Good job supermum340, creating an account is the easy part; keeping it takes a little more finesse and patience's. I recommend you not rush your selling, take your time and act like a new eBay user. If you try to sell to hard, eBay might not like that and suspend you. Just take your time and baby your new account.

Hey guys, what do you think about 5 day listings for relatively new users? (month or more) Would that look suspicious at all? I've read that 3 days are iffy and can lead to the ebay eye over you, but 5 days? Also, congratulations supermum! I'd steer away from really expensive stuff for a while if I were you. That stuff's ok at Christmas, but you might stick out at other times.

Aspkin didn't you say something about this 3 day thing being a bad thing, or am I just remembering wrong? I've slept since then. Maybe it was someone on ebay forums (they seem to have all the wrong answers). I'd like to do 3 day listings too, but have been wary about trying it on this new account.

Actually I don't remember. But 5 day auctions are always good. Only thing is not to rush too much. Time is money, but time is wasted if your account is suspended because eBay suspects you of abusing eBay. Once your account is established move on to 3 day auctions. Just don't move too fast. And modee your style of listing may save you. Because you don't list 50+ auctions a day, you're considered a slow lister. If you're listing a few auctions a day, that's slow. But you items are expensive, so I guess it evens it self out. When I talk about fast, I'm talking everyday listing 100 or more auctions a day. That's what I used to do. I usually didn't have any problems, but sometimes I would be suspended randomly for abusing eBay. Anytime I listed 105 or more auctions a day, I would usually be suspended fast for abusing eBay.

I know that without your guidelines my changes of being back to eBay would be zero- you guys are great!!

BTW: I was suspended for selling a new DVD, which was still not released yet, but already available for purchase in Bangkok:) So after a few items were sold I got the love-letter from them with the suspension greeting message:(

If u sell a vero Item, due to ebay new anti counterfeiting policies,1-3days actions are no longer allowed.This is to give ebay staff time to review the seller status.If u r new, ur acct will be flagged immediately & get suspended if you list 1-3days auctions.If u must sell a vero item, u have to link ur ebay & paypal accts & list beyond 3days.
As a new seller, if u must sell high end goods, u just need to work it up slowly.Patience is golden.U don't want to start creating another acct again-that will be time wasted.Everyone needs money within seconds if we can get it that way but trust is d basis 4 any solid business.EBAY needs ur trust & time invested into ur seller's acct will be worth it in d long run.

This makes much sense and lends credence to the short auctions=bad theory. I suppose then you only really need to worry about auction duration if your item is expensive, high risk and/or VERO.

If you sell a VeRO item, sooner or later you'll be suspended again. You're fighting a losing battle if you continue to try to avid eBay. Trust me on this! And everything I know about eBay, I could only avid them for about a month until the so card 'owners' of the product would report me to be suspended. It was demoralizing at times.

Yes Modee, Turbolister is great! It saves a lot of time, but don't list more then 100 auctions a day! :) The more auctions you have, the more presence you have in the eBay market which equals 4-5k a day in sales just after a week of listing. That's what I had to do to sell fast before I was suspended by VeRO. But it's good to list slowly if you know you're not in danger of VeRO and you're trying to be safe, like a good seller.

Aspkin, for my new accounts (less than two weeks), is it safe to list one-day or three day auctions? Does it raise suspicions?

Popular opinion seems to be 3-5 days are ok as long as it's not a VERO or high dollar/high risk item. I don't believe ebay lets you do 1 day auctions now unless you have X amount of feedback (10 or so?) This has been talked about in other threads, but I think you're the first to actually start one about this. If you pass the two month mark, seems you're ok for the most part.

You need to have 5 feedbacks with paypal to list one day. I feel three day is OK, but not sure about too many one day. Anyone has experience?

Interesting. Knew about the 5 feedback for buy it now, but wasn't aware it was good for 1 day listings too. I may try that sometime. By the way, when you registered did you use one of the gift cards or regular credit? Having trouble with my credit card, even though it's brand new, shouldn't be any issues. If you don't mind saying, did you use the defaults, or did you change anything?

As Jack said, start off slow in the begining, and once your account has some age, you should be okay.

This is already my third ebay account and I just created a new ebay account 3 days ago on the Australia ebay site, I am just wandering will ebay suspect me if I sell expensive products around $99 dollar for 3 day listing (so the total is 2 listings within a week) ? Normally, what is the maximum highest sales I should make so that ebay will not suspect me ? Does ebay suspect a seller by the quantity of the listings or the amount of sales a seller make ? how many months I should stay low profile ? I had stayed for 2 mths (that is the longest time I sell on ebay) but still ebay suspended my account. Please assist me so that I can continue to sell on ebay and stay on ebay forever?
