Buying things over 1.00?

We've all had the discussion about .01 and .99, basically low price listings. So does that mean you're usually pretty safe if you buy things over 1.00? I'm thinking of moving over to another account and I need to buy a few things to have buy it now as an option again. I don't need much, just about 3 more buys. Would ebay send out the hounds for that if I bought 3 things all on one day of just over a dollar or so? Or should I be pretty safe as long as it's over .99?

I think you'll be safe.

I think getting suspended for cheap feedback depends on a lot of factors. On a recent occasion, I had been doing well with an account, but decided that I wanted to get enough feedback to do multiple item listings (so I bought mainly a lot of 1p ebooks), and I was suspended for violating the spirit of ebay policy, whatever the hell that meant.
Other times, I've done it, and been fine. I suggest that you buy the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM that you need to get BIN, and splurge on an item in the five dollar range. Maybe even go so far as to make one item a physical product, and not an ebook. Ebay seller planetsms is an extremely reputable seller who has ebooks from .99 up, so buying from him might not be too suspicious.

On another note: I just opened a new account and want to start selling right away, but since the account is less than 5 days old, I can't leave feedback, which means that if I buy ebooks for feedback, I won't get any left for me until I leave it for the seller, as most of them work with an eye for an eye mentality. So, if anyone with a good account is selling ebooks, PM me, or if you are selling a physical item, I'll "buy" it and reimburse you for the listing price via PP. NEED FEEDBACK!

Immediate payment required seems to haunt 99% of these auctions anymore. I suppose the only thing to do is to create a paypal account specifically for this and transfer some money in specifically for this purpose. It's a lucky thing they don't require delivery. Did I mention I HATE "immediate payment"?

I was looking at starting to sell again under my new account and recently got ahold of about 40 promotional items that are time sensitve for about the next 10 days.
They go for anywhere between .99 to $10 including the shipping.
If I did a listing for lets say 2.99 or higher including shipping with a BIN would I get busted?
Would I be better starting them at 1.99 and list the quantity available at 10? If so, what would be the minimum duration for the listing?

Kind of the flip side of the original question, but on the same topic. How to jump start your feedback selling legitimate items and not penny ebooks.

Man what kind of stuff are you selling and how many units?
I am way out of my league here, wish I could rev up to your level, then maybe all of the BS and headaches would be worth it.
You are my hero!
