Spoofers almost gave me a heart attack today!
 

Been up and running again for about a month. Took my son Christmas shopping this morning and checked my e-mail on the way home from my Blackberry and got this:

"Subject: FPF NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension -Section 9-

From: eBay Safeharbor Department SD38 <suspension@ebay.com.cn>
Date: Sat, Dec 06, 2008 8:53 am
To: ****

eBay sent this message to your registered email address username ****.
Your registered email username is included to show this message originated from eBay.

FPF NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension -Section 9-

Dear ****,

We are writing to alert you that your eBay account has been suspended.

Per the User Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue a warning,
temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership
and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions
may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us.

To remove any limitations, you are required to confirm your eBay registration.

Confirm your eBay registration

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are
prohibited from using eBay in any way until your confirmation.

I've been on eBay since '97, so I'm normally pretty good at spotting spoofs, but since it was on my Blackberry, I couldn't really tell. I was about ready to cry! Had to call my wife at home and have her log into eBay and make sure it wasn't real. Thank god it wasn't. Until my accounts got taken down last month, I never would have even thought it would have been real, but I am sure you guys can understand why I am scared every time I open up my e-mail!

Spoofers are at it again. Last time the email addie was safeharbor at ebaydotcomdotaw.
Notice now that it ends with cn (China).

Yeah, I hate when that happens. These spoof emails are getting better.
