New account name and stupid question
 

This is probably a stupid question but I am going to ask it anyway. If you open a account in a family members name and that persons name is Male, and you say that ebay will call you or you eventually will have to call ebay and you are female.....and you dont sound like Gary....what is the work around?

There isn't one.....unless Gary is around to take the call.

Why wouldn't you be using a random female name?!

Open in a female family member name or use a name variation.

Yeah, probably not, but it answer in a way to the OP question and it is quite creative solution in my opinion.

Pretending to be "post op" is a real "beaut". Another classic was using a voice changer.

Firstly don't open accounts with family members details.

Secondly, stick to opening accounts in your own gender unless you are living with someone of the opposite gender that is clued up enough on your selling activities.

Sorry but this is not advised, we recommend that people never open accounts in family/friends/pets.

Okay I m very confused, I bought the stealth book and throughout it tells me that using a family members info to open a account would be the ideal way to go. But now someone here is saying no don't do that??.Second... I would be doing that, if I go through with it, because the name on the checking account has to be the same as on ebay right? So if I were having my son open a checking account up so I could have a debit card with bank account then I would have to have same name right ? So that if ever I have to fax info it would be easy to match right? Or am I misunderstanding all of this?

It's clearly states in the book I bought that using a family members to open the account is ideal.... So why is that not the same info here ?

Because we have found SINCE the book was written, the idea had hassles.

You use ebay stealth AND the forum to get the ideal info to make new stealth accounts.

Just choose a random name, any name you can think of.

Using family or friends info has led to issues in the past for lots of people.

As you read around the forums, you will new advice/updates - family info is not preferable due to many reasons including tax....use of real info...etc

hey guys, I have a stupid question too.

I am just getting ready to set up a new stealth account in OZ. The Stealth guide recommends using a gmail account, but I have seen on other sites they advise against the use of gmail... Would a hotmail account be OK to use??

How do you get past the faxing of documents if you don't use a family/friend address??
