has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

Hi all.

You will say don't I'm aware of that....

Just wanted to know if you have and therefore what they ask? Also, if you have all stealth details to hand why is it a problem?

Thanks

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

Your account has to be a SELLER account for 30-45 days before you can get an increase.

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

Oh well that contradicts the info I have. When I run out of listings I have the option to provide some basic info or check my info and then call for an increase..The account isn't that old.
I just wondered as I said.

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

You can call the same day you create it to get an increase if you want.

Not advised to call though at all

Bunneh 05-11-2015 01:39 PM

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

Yes but when you call they will tell you to call back 30 days from now... Unless you get lucky.

But if it's a business account then you can get an increase every 30 days.

I don't suppose anyone can answer my question?? What do they ask you and why, if you have all stealth info is it so advised against?

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

I've no intention of calling them I jus want to know

Re: has anyone called ebay for listing increase?

They only ask for your name. Sometimes they don't even ask that, they simply ask "Am I speaking with James Smith?"

I've NEVER had an issue calling for for limit increases. Like callidus says you can call in the same day and get huge increases.

But if you aren't good at talking, and can't convince the agent to do what you want, then don't bother and wait it out.

It's basic social engineering.

Also you need to make sure the accounts are created correctly with no links.

It is advised against so consistently because it can attract unwelcome attention to your stealth account, and the closer they look the more chance they will find out what you and everyone else on here is so desperate to stop them finding out, that it is a stealth account and give you an immediate outright ban!

Yes, I have, dozens of times. If you check threads created by me, you'll see tons of info on the subject.

The "problem" is that eBay usually (80% of the time) will ask you to confirm your details. Since these are stealth, they won't be able to verify it.

HOWEVER: If you are not stuttering and acting like some shifty drug-dealer, and you calmly let them know what you're trying to sell, and act confused about "seller limits" like you have no idea what eBay is about, they almost always give you a limits increase.

To date, I have had ONE occurrence where I was asked for a DL after calling in....but the great thing is, the guy STILL GAVE ME A LIMITS INCREASE! 500% increase, from 10 to 50 items per month, with the stipulation that I must provide a DL for future increases. (easily resolved, be creative)

FALSE!
I call on EVERY new stealth account I create DAY 1 for limit increases. But please note to MAX YOUR LIMITS (list the full amount they give you) before calling in. I recommend you list something low-risk, it doesn't even have to be your actual product----books, for example, and then call in. They will review your inventory, and ask questions about it, so rehearse beforehand. Don't be a stuttering idiot on the phone.

Correct.

This is correct. The biggest issue, however, is if you are doing shady business. I've never had an account outright shutdown after calling in, however, document requests, while uncommon, can occur.

Bottom line: Make sure your account is in order before you call. Don't list VERO stuff and then ask them to review you for a limit increase. Don't get a negative feedback and then call in. Common sense.

Yes, good advice as well.

It's not a good idea to act shady when calling eBay. My gut tells me that those who have been suspended after calling eBay failed to follow this basic principle..... :ranger:

Great info thanks.....One minor issue I can see occurring would be if ebay wished to post a letter with code as per the above video to confirm a limit increase? The address would have to be real? Mine isn't changed from stealth as personally I buy little.
I have an address but wasn't going to change it yet to save wasting it in case of mess up. Saving it for a rainy day!!

ThoughtS?

Not necessarily true. I've phoned up after 30 minutes of creating a new account and with a bit of sweet talk they increased it to 100/3500

Anyone Known whether it can be done on a Stealth address or do they send out these codes?

Be prepared for the code if you get a rep which likes doing things by the book.

There are ways on the phone to make sure you don't ever get the code though ...
