TracFone Issues
 

For my first 5 stealth accounts, I bought TracFones. They were Samsung, regular price $10, but on sale for $5. Everything works fine. Then I bought 3 more from another place. They are LG flip phones, Regular price $15, on sale for $5. The flip phones are not working for Paypal verification. I can send or receive texts on the phone from my other phone, but When I request a confirmation code, the text never arrives! Same way with all 3 phones. Any input on this?

Check if the flip phone has a blue sim card? Sometimes the $5 flip ones wont work with Paypal but that's fine.

Paypal Phone verification is not needed. You can sell without it as long as you have confirmed your account with CC and/or Bank.


Or

You can make a GV number and redirect to your Tracfone. You can confirm the txt via email. And answer verification calls on your tracfone.

It's a white sim card with blue writing, but the ones that work have a white card with black writing.

I would probably be better off taking the $15 loss and buying the ones that I know work for these account instead of just not verifying the phones, right?

As SilentHill mentioned, it isn't a big deal.

What you're trying to do is confirm mobile, right? That has no effect on the account at all. It doesn't make the account any stronger or weaker.

Any Tracfone can receive texts/calls from Paypal when it counts (when trying to add certain banks or sometimes withdraw you may be asked to receive a pin via text or phone call and the phone will work then). You don't have to spend any extra money on a fancier Tracfone.

Funny, cause the $10 ones work, but not the $15 ones. Good to know that the phone doesn't have to be verified at first. Still might be problem though, if it won't receive the confirmation texts later either. Or does it allow you to do it by phone call then?

They can receive texts from Paypal later (i.e. for the "device not recognized" error when adding certain banks/withdrawing).

The LG flip phones that were on sale from Tracfone not too long ago do not receive the text when trying to confirm mobile (this is true about most Tracfones on T-mobile's network; phones running on AT&T's network work more often), but do work for receiving a text if you run into the device not recognized security measure. And that's really what matters most.

I don't even bother with confirming mobile on the vast majority of my accounts.

I read on a paypal forum that it usually means that the number is already being used on a paypal account.

I been reading members on this forum having issues , but I have yet to encounter any issue and I use every model tracfone, so it's not the model

So I googled it, and landed on a paypal forum, and it was on actual Paypal , and it seems to be a big issue going back for years that users have issues confirming mobile numbers, and the reason given was they are already in use

Imagine all the paypal accounts that are limited on there, they stay open for years, I can log into a limited account from 3 years ago, and I never bother to update my phone numbers, so there are a lot of numbers left on accounts that were confirmed a a never updated

I use both Tracfones and VOIP lines and I have never had a problem with either. With the VOIP lines it is difficult to get an SMS message, but you don't usually have to.

you do not need it. If they ask for it later the phone call will go through.

What silenthill and plumsake say is true.

I have encountered the same issues.
Black writing on white SIM always works
Blue writing on white SIM doesnt always work (some have worked for me, but most do not)
It is not a big deal if you do not get the phone confirmed for that extra 20% because they will still call that number if needed.

I'm sorry, I took the time to read this, but not sue how it pertains to my situation. Maybe it's where you took the battery and sim card out for 10 minutes? Other than that, I really didn't understand the thread

Yeah like others have said dont even worry about it Scottie, even if you dont confirm it, can use it later on to pass those device not recognized pages

I rarely ever confirm the paypal number as it does nothing overall but change some artificial percentage points on paypal / just confirm ebay

The only good in having a mobile is if you plan on doing mobile transactions, and with stealth I definitely don't use that option.

So just take any number, whether It's tracfone, verizon, AT&T , or a VOIP, and just when adding the number you need to label it either home, work, or mobile

Just don't label the number mobile and u won't need to verify the phone is yours. You need to verify because what you are doing is signing up for mobile paypal, and sending receiving payments using your mobile phone number.


But as far as stealth, I have used every kind of phone there is and label it, home or work, and that's it, just always keep the number active, and if down the line u need to verify thru your number , than the number that will work is the one u used when registering.

Don't worry about the Percentage it means nothing as far as not having a mobile , once u upgrade to a business account that percentage no longer exists

As they correctly mentioned, they don't work for initial Paypal verification, which isn't necessary. They work for eBay confirmation, etc. No problem.

Amazon has lg 305c for tracfone 5$. Comes with 10 minutes and 60 days of service. Stock up. Confirmed working for PayPal

Not that it matters but the phone also has wifi. Pretty good deal

All Tracfones come with 20 minutes/ 2 months. They are $5 at the store, which is better than paying shipping

Not all, as I just previously stated. The shipping is free on Amazon for the LG 305c and 305G for orders over 35

I want to ask you does the LG 305C and the LG 306G 3G Tracfones you mentioned for $5.00 each thats on Amazon do they come with black and white sim cards only?

The 305C is a CDMA phone (meaning it runs on Verizon), which means it does not have a SIM card. the 306G stands for a GSM phone and will run on ATT and Tmob networks. Those will come with SIM cards and most are the white SIM cards with blue writing, which mean they will not get a text from PP, black writing on the SIM cards mean they will get the confirmation text from PP.

I will have to check the SIM cards in the morning, however I have confirmed all of my 305g's. Sometimes you just have to take the battery out wait a few seconds, put it back in, and then request a text message again. The 305c's confirm without any hassles

Thanks fox20c I want to ask you have you used the LG 305C Tracfones to verify your Paypal accounts and has the LG 305C Tracfone worked every single time for you?

Do you mean the 305C kozzer89? I have researched extensively and there is no phone by LG or Tracfone that has the model number of 305g mate.

I only use the 305c to confirm the ebay text, havn't used them to confirm with PayPal in a while but when I did use them they always worked.
