Celebrity Image Policy of Ebay

Hi Guys!
I am a seller on Ebay, I have a small scale business selling apparels on Ebay with approximate turnover of 2500USD per month, yesterday they just deleted all of my hundreds of listings saying that an account restriction has been imposed on my account and no reason was given to me in writing whatsoever, after spending hours at customer care and calling up like 15-18 times to them I got the response from a dumb customer care executive that some of my listings had celebrity images which is an ebay policy violation.
I jus wanna ask a question that if some celebrity endorses a product and models for it, who am I to change that, or to that matter, how can Ebay dictate terms for it. I was told that Ebay cannot allow a picture with any celebrity as a model but they are fine if its an unknown model.
This complete argument seems so illogical, perhaps its time EBay releases a RED ALERT LIST for celebrities that are not allowed to pose as models .
Can they really do it???....how can they delete hundreds of my listings when only 2-3 of them had, what they termed as... "objectionable content"....

The problem is, unless you have written authorization from the product manufacturer to use their photographs, you are not allowed to use them. The one exception to that would be if eBay has stock photos in their catalog - you can always use those.

I cannot speak for eBay, but my guess would be their logic is that even if a celebrity modeled for the manufacturer and endorses them, they did not model for YOU as a seller, or endorse YOU selling the product.

With eBay, you are almost always better off taking your own pictures. One mistake that newbies make is to pull images off of Google. Sometimes you can get away with it, but it is not a good idea.
