ip address 192.168.1.1
 

ok my d-link router and many other makes have this ip address as default.
I doubt many people bother to change it so Im guessing its on ebay accounts alot

Should I bother changing it when making a new account?

The 192.168.1.1 is a "private" IP address that Ebay cannot see. It is only meant to route internet traffic inside your home (or network). To find your "real" IP address that the rest of the world sees, including Ebay, go to IP Chicken - What is my IP? Find Your IP Address!

Your real IP is coming in from your cable or dsl modem, and then to your d-link router which then splits the signal for the home (192.168.1.x). You usually only get only one "internet" IP (for a period of time, then it usually changes). I need to make my self an IP Chicken and have google ads too... It would probably take less then an hour to make a site like that...bah
