jeffweico | 08-08-2015 02:21 PM | Re: BOXPN IP Addresses safe for ebay & paypal? As with everything else in life, if you want to accomplish something, you need the right tool for the job. You will have a hard time using a phillips screwdriver to unscrew a flathead screw.
The IP services that cost $5 per month and give you access to 200 servers are fine for things like downloading movies and staying anonymous when looking at porn. They can give you access to US legal movie services even though you are in another country. That is what they are there for. These services have several hundred IP addresses and thousands of customers who share these IP's. They know that not EVERY customer will be trying to access their services all at once. So that is how they make their money. And no pirate movie site is going to care what your IP address is, so their system works for what it does.
But for stealth, you need an IP that is STATIC and DEDICATED. Static means it never changes and dedicated means that YOU are the only one who can access it. Since the cost of the IP is not being spread over 20, 30 or 40 customers, they cost more. But eBay and PayPal DO care what IP address you are accessing their systems from. PayPal especially, since they are dealing with the money end of things.
The reason that 24vc works well for stealth is that their IP addresses are NOT recycled. They somehow found a source of fresh IP's that have not been used and abused by scammers, credit card thieves and movie downloaders. So, the IP's are clean and they work well.
So, comparing 24vc (or any other services that offer static and dedicated IP's) to the cheap $5 per month services that give you access to hundreds of IP's, is like comparing apples and oranges. They all offer IP's, but the uses for them are completely different. The bulk services are really not suitable for stealth. Because if you create an account on an IP that has caused eBay or PayPal (or Amazon for that matter) trouble before, the odds are that they are going to take a VERY CLOSE LOOK at your account and it will probably die.
Yes, eBay really can't ban people based on an IP address alone. But if your account is red-flagged because of the IP having been used for a banned account, then they can start looking at public records databases to see if "Jim Shoe" is a real person or not. And if they don't find him there, guess what? Your account is toast!
I have been saying the same thing about VPS's for years! Granted, an IP attached to a VPS is not as likely to have been burned with eBay before, even by the $5 per month services. But those $5 per month services' problem is that they are often recently started and when the owners can't make enough money from their clients, they tend to close down - often without warning. And then what do you do? You have to get another VPS in the same area and hope like hell that eBay, PayPal and/or Amazon do not notice that both your machine and the IP address have changed, or that they look at it and don't care, because your account has had no problems and few complaints.
I'm not trying to be a sales rep for 24vc, I do not own them. I'm just trying to point out the differences between IP services, because the thinking seems to be that $15 or $20 is too much money for 1 IP when you can get 400 IP's for $5 per month. And if they were equal, then that thinking would be right. I love to save money where I can, I hate paying more than I have to for something. But this is one area where you don't want to be cheap. ESPECIALLY if you are not using the "turn and burn" method of stealth. If you want a long-term account that you can build into a real, profitable business then using an IP that is both static and dedicated is the only way to go.
I hope this helps everyone to understand the difference between the types of IP services. I recommend 24vc for the same reason I recommend Aspkin's stealth guide. There are others out there selling guides to getting back on eBay and some are cheaper. But I have never seen one that even comes close to explaining it the same way that Aspkin does and that contains all of the information that the stealth guide here contains. Saving a few bucks is great, but not if it costs you an account. |

ScottieBoi | 08-08-2015 05:50 PM | Re: BOXPN IP Addresses safe for ebay & paypal? OK, cool. Going to the website doesn't do much good, as I never saw where it said specifically that you get ONE ip per account. That's the only reason I asked |

I cringe everytime I read a thread with the letters VPN. Like instant death and people just keep repeating the same advice without even knowing. Like newbs teaching newbs.
This service needs to be a sticky ontop of a sticky. Im ordering 24VC soon. Thanks | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:44 AM. | |
