Rookie mistake got me suspended...are others in danger?
 

Well I just want to slap myself this morning. I have been selling on this account for 5 years with over 5k feedback and decided to open another account using the same paypal and PC. The dumb thing I did was open the second account using Google voice and it was suspended this morning before the first sale completed (the whole indefinite suspicious thing). This happened at 1am last night and as of right now the 5k account is still up, running and selling. My question is will they soon take down that account cause its linked? I want to call to explain about the new account and get it reinstated, but I wondering if that is going to make it worse. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would you call and fix or ignore and continue?

It is difficult to predict what exactly can occur and WHEN. There is a link, yes but is it enough to affect Account #1? Maybe not. I would NOT call in. But I would create backup accounts to spread sales

Thanks for the comforting advice. I already have back up accounts in place. This one is Top Rated with first page/item view in best match. It takes a while to gain that so it would be a great loss. I have been successful with reinstating accounts in the past but not sure if that's going to open a can of worms. As of right now it has sold 6 items and had 4 offers on items. I am a bit nervous about listing on it since it may trigger an investigation. I guess ill hope for the best but prepare for the worse.

Yeah its hard to know for sure but hopefully it doesn't affect the other account. In the future make sure to follow proper stealth procedures for any other accounts you may want to open: new user account or vmware and new ip and new details, and completely different ebay & paypal dont link multiple ebays to one paypal

Good advice, I usually do but I have not had an account suspended in years and got a bit cocky. I forgot how easy it was to get shot down. Nevertheless, I am glad to hear that this is not a definite suspend. I will take it a bit slow for a while to not attract any unnecessary attention.

just wait. 2 yrs from now this guy'll be back saying ebay suspended me and paypal held xx,xxx money from me and i no idea why.

Just call in and say you have no connection to the account you got related with, which is a mistake on their part and they will be able to do a comparison for similarities
