Should I create a new account to sell used retail equipment?
 

I am back on Ebay (thanks Ebay Stealth!), have almost 100 fb, am being very careful, staying under the radar, etc...

Now here's my question: My uncle has "hired" me to sell his used retail equipment (display cases, large storage bins, etc) & I'm wondering if I should create a new Ebay id to sell these, instead of using my new one. Will selling this stuff raise a red flag on my new account? But if I sell this stuff w/ a new, zero FB id will that hurt my chances of getting bids & having customers trust me, etc? I could use my uncle's name, address, etc b/c he's not on Ebay, so I wouldn't have to create a new identity...

So should I take my chances selling this equipment under my ebay id w/ 100 fb and hope I don't get noticed or should I create a new id just for selling this stuff, which would but me back at zero FB? Thanks!!

How in the world could you possibly think we (the forum) could make that decision better than yourself? :rolleyes:

I would create a new account with your uncles info, so if someone needs to return something or has any problems they have legit contact information. If you make the new account, take things slow maybe 2-3 items a week under $50-100. Then as time goes on gradually expedite your listings.

I didn't want you to make the decision for me, I just wanted some advice, to reassure me that I was doing the right thing so I don't get suspended again. So I will make a new account (which was what I was thinking about doing anyway) & I appreciate your help. :)

Really no need to worry, I can't believe that type of equipment can get you banned?

Unless you are worried about making so much money that PayPal might limit you?

You haven't really expressed your concerns regarding why you think there might be problems?

Create the account with your Uncle's details. Keep yours and his apart, completely apart. Just be careful with how you use both accounts and you should be fine.Never put your eggs in one basket.Have you carefully checked
the catergory where these will be sold & will this be practical?;)
