Will I get busted?
 

Hi guys, joined here last year and successfully set up and still run a stealth account.

I still use my banned seller account to buy things as it has my home address on it and my wife's account has been linked to mine by ebay because of being at the same address/IP etc.

I have a business mobile that I use the stealth account on via mobile web, not the app. Never use it on wifi at home so never shows up on the same IP as any of our other devices. No issues at all with that account.

However, I've got a new personal phone and just before I logged into the app I stopped for a second and started wondering.... A year or so after having my old account suspended, would they still be paying enough attention to me that if I set up a new one with my home address etc. they'd instantly ban it? Or would their system just flag it straight up still? I suspect the latter, but thought I'd ask the experts.

It would most likely be suspended pretty quickly. YES, they keep everything on file forever. At the very least, they would ask for identity documents.

Yeah they would definitely still know that address is linked to a suspended account, at the very least it would cause a big flag on the new seller account

If you create the account in your real name at your address then it will very likely get canned almost straight away.

If you create the account in a stealth name at your address then it might get canned straight away. There is however a decent chance that the account will operate fine long term.

There definitely would always be some sort of link there but it is impossible to know if or when it would kill the new account.

The only way to know what will happen is to proceed with your plan.

Fair enough. I just don't want them closing the wife's account as a result!

Yup, it's probably not worth the risk in all honesty. I do have a working stealth account that I have been selling the odd item from just fine, it's purely a convenience thing really. I hate having to tell people to text me their number so I can send my address etc. so that I don't have to write it on eBay.

There is a risk ebay used some software system to detect the address right away
