Ebay & New Comcast Account
 

Hi

Need some help. I have an office location. Last year ebay account was suspended for someone else who sublet the office. I got my own account using my iphone with at&t which has unlimited data. Have been using this account for 2 years no problems with ebay or paypal. I need to be able to list more & tired of listing everything via the iphone.

At the office location I had Comcast business internet & the hotspot for the account that was cancelled. What I want to do is, call Comcast & get new service. With the new service they will bring me a new modem & new hot spot equipment. I have purchased a new pc also.

If I use a new pc with brand new Comcast service & new equipment, but at the same location, office address that was suspended, will ebay be able to link my physical location with the account that was cancelled.

FYI , for the new account I gave ebay a new address that I used for billing purposes, only.

I mostly need help in trying to figure out how to list higher volumes & not using the iphone, I really want to get back to using a desktop.

There are many other methods to get Internet Service for Stealth, Mifi/Dongle, Phone Tethering, DialUp.

IF, IF you only plan to use 1 account you can always just switch Modems and you will get a new IP.....Do you only plan to run 1 account?

New PC is extreme, not sure why people go to such lengths, you can just create a new User Account on the PC and your good to go. Also, cancelling and ordering service again is extreme....there's no need for all that.
Suggestion: Get a new Modem and your sure to get a new IP. Also, look into the suggestions in my first response above.

When going Stealth it's important to never use the same address as previously used.

So you have several options which I already mentioned:
1. Get a new Modem which will give you a new IP
2. You can "Tether" your phone to your Computer (should log each IP change if using multiple Accounts)
3. Dongle/MIFI (Should log each IP change if using multiple accounts)

Right now I am not using the traditional black Comcast modem. It only works with paid service. When I cancelled the Comcast service they forgot to come and get the free hotspot white modem. This is what I am using. I am logging into the free hotspot xfinity white modem wirelessly, with my Comcast log in from home & the internet is now free at the office location.

Are you suggesting I replace the free hotspot xfinity modem? If you are saying replace the modem, which is the white free hotspot, doesn't that mean I will need to call Comcast & pay for service?

If this is not what you saying, is there a way I can still use the free white hotspot modem? I like the 1st option best of getting a new modem but need to know how to handle the service. :juggle:

Just so you are aware, whatever advice we give you will be based on you running only 1 account, once someone decides to run multiple accounts then some advice will change.

Let me see if I have t his right, you have 2 Modems:
1. The Traditional Black Modem - This modem no longer works because you turned off the service.

2. XFinity Wireless Modem - This modem is active right now.

Try this:
1. go to Track Your IP Address - IPBurger.com via the xfinity modem connection and log the IP.
2. Turn Off the modem for 1 minute
3. Turn On the Modem
4. Check ipburger again and see if the IP changes

IF the IP changes then you could in theory use the xfinity modem for your new account.
