Help.... Now worried again...

Done some reading and found out about WebRTC leaking your real IP if your using a VPN.

Should I be worried? I use Chrome and have 24vc for dedicated VPN.

What tool or method should I used to disable the WebRTC?

Very frustrated. Once you think you have things figured out, bam another problem is there.

That is not new news at all.

Firefox leakes the most but also has the best plugins to assure a leak does not occur. Also, from what I gathered, mostly slow/intermittent internet leaks.

Supposedly Internet Explorer hardly leaks at all.

Several threads on this forum discuss this also.

Aspkin, what do you think of this?

Personally.. I have not had any problems with a leaked IP address (Using VPN).. never a problem.

I use Firefox primarily.

Have you tested and if so, with cell phone tethering/mifi or just broadband?

I have not don't any testing myself. Just found out about it an hour ago.

My plan was 24vc Dedicated VPN with blocking non-vpn traffic. So I don't wish to use cellular or mifi etc. Already paid my VPNs up for a year.

Hope its nothing but I'm not comfortable with leaks.

I'm using chrome and going to look into fixing later ( no time right now ).

Aspkin - I found out and read about webRTC leak on this forum. Just browsing and reading up....

When I asked if aspking tested the leaks using mifi/phone tethering, I was meaning for a source of internet while using a VPN not as an alternative.

To answer your questions...
No you shouldn't be worried. I too use Chrome + 24vc.

No major marketplace currently looks into WebRTC leaks, however, its better to be safe than sorry. The extension that works a charm on chrome is WebRTC Leak Prevent. Install that, and you can test if it works by going to https://ipleak.net/

:pound: That last bit made me LOL as I was thinking the same not too long ago.

Always used VPNs, mostly with internet explorer and never had a problem

I think personally 24 vc is a waist of money.
I am running 7 different accounts off my iPhone tethering with my laptop and have had no problems.

Re: Help.... Now worried again...

This is a simple fix, if your worried about WebRTC leaks, can simply download a plugin to prevent it from leaking any information. There are multiple plugins / addons available, here are some of the most popular ones:

Chrome:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...lgfdalml?hl=en

Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...isable-webrtc/

But yeah as Play mentioned, this is not something amazon or ebay is currently checking, so your fine either way with or without the plugin. But who knows in the future they might check, so might as well be safe by installing it

As others are saying WebRTC is easy to patch and it's really not that useful for tracking purposes. Millions of other people could potentially have the same internal local IP as your machine uses.
