Observation about Suspensions

Hi. I've noticed in reading the threads that many people are being suspended for violations of some sort, esp VERO ... and have to be very careful of relisting those items.

I'm curious ... I've had 3 accounts total. The first was suspended a few years ago for copyright infringment.

I signed up later after moving and was good to go for about a year (maybe more? can't recall) and then BAM! Reason: linked to first account (no violations).

Signed up again, and then just recently (and quicker) BAM! (Linked again, but no violations).

In each steath account case I was still using my PayPal.

So ... do you think it took awhile for eBay to catch me because I wasn't selling red-flag items (like Vero; --I sell dvds). It seems if I hadn't used PP I may have gone in cognito indefinitely.

I'm hoping so, because it should mean I can stay under the radar longer ... maybe indefinitely.

No violations = deep undercover, right?

:ninja:

Yes I think that played a part of it but the other part was because you moved. You probably had a different IP location from your provider when you moved along with a different address.. Less red flags equals less reasons for ebay to look through and dissect your account.

Yes paypal is the culprit for you being linked. You must of raised some type of flag for them to catch you too.

No, You could be making big sales or moving a lot of product which could cause you to stand out. Becoming a power seller will get you assign a Power seller manager that will look over your account.

Ebay can always find a way or excuse to blow your cover.

Regardless of where anyone lives, what is listed with ebay, they have to be prepared. (anyone) just has to operate their sellers' account in such a way that ebay has no reason to suspend it. This means careful planning and great customer service. There isbu heaps of info about what to do, what not to do but the bottom line is use ebay to win by every means possible.
