MC016 yesterday....second violation coming?

I understand the ethical issue of shill bidding, I recognize it is wrong, however, I am guilty of it and eBay identified me. I am now suspended for 15 days after I used my wifes ID to get a few extra bucks. I will serve my time and press on after learning my lesson. However, just three days ago (prior to the shill catch) I had my brother bid on and win an auction. He lives about 20 miles away, what are the chances of this being identified? What are the penalties for the second violation?

unlikely unless you bro has logged in at your house/ip or you at his house/ip, if you have a fixed ip OR If you or he have a changing IP and you were on the same IP at some time.

ebay wouldnt just look at ip anyway, it would tally ip and address and thats why you and your wife got done for shilling. Initially when a shill bid is detected via IP the screen on you ebay account freezes and the options are not usable, this is while ebay looks at your account and decides whether to bust your booty.

your wife lives at your address (I hope) and I assume it was an IP issue for you.

shill bidding is the dumbest reason to be suspended. i learned the hard way. you will be better off listing at a higher price or with a reserve amount. i lost a power seller account with a 5000 rating for life shill bidding a couple years ago...then I found aspkin ;)

If your brother WON the auction then it is not shill bidding. Did he pay for it? LoL. Second offense will probably Indefinite Suspension.
