30 Day Selling restriction drops off after over a year?
 

I received a 30-day selling restriction in March of 2015. Previous to this I also received 3 and 7 day restrictions. Since that time (almost a year and a half) I have been violation free. My question is if I sell one or two Vero items on this account will my selling account be permanently restricted if I receive another MC999 copyright violation alert or will the violation revert back to a 3-day suspension because of the time passed between violations? On this account I am a TRS with 900 positive feedback.

ebay is such a fickle company. It is possible they might suspend you again. Has happened to others. One factor will be the item itself & how aggro the IP rights holder is.

Could you consider looking for other safer items?

I understand you probably need to get rid of inventory, but you should be very careful with the account you mentioned. I've only had one restriction in my Ebay career and it was on my personal account a few years ago. I got a 30-day restriction then within a month or so of resuming sales I was permanently restricted. I was shipping everything without tracking and lots of cases were being opened. At the time I was running everything from the Ebay mobile app, so most of the time I wasn't even aware of any problems.

Anyway long story short, you are on shaky ground with your account. It does help that over a year has passed but those restrictions will always be on your account's permanent record.

You should seriously consider getting a few stealth accounts going. Not only would you be able to sell your items without risking your main account, but you would be increasing your presence on Ebay every time you start selling from a new stealth account.

I wouldnt risk it since any kind of review would reveal the past problems and selling restrictions imposed on the account.
That's the beautiful thing about stealth though. You dont have to risk your main account to sell items.
Open more accounts and sell the risky items on those and keep complete separation between your main account and the accounts that sell those trickier items.

I think it really is a matter of how much you want to keep the account. Obviously you had previous MC999 so your marked already. I have put up items before after being taken down by eBay. It does seem to matter about the length of time, Usually i would wait at least 3-4 months. In addition, the amount of good sales in between on a regular basis seems to help make a difference as well. Sometimes the item would run just fine and sell, on the other hand i have relisted items and had the pulled in a matter of less than 24hrs. The only safe way is to not relist. But of course, if like me, sometimes i just dont have another market for the item. I have to factor cost in account value vs need for that monetary gain.:shocked:
