| | | ScottieBoi | 08-04-2016 02:14 PM | Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I've been using my Straight Talk phone to tether to my PC to access my Stealth accounts. I keep a spreadsheet and track which IPs I use for each account. Normally I turn Flight Mode on and off, then turn my Mobile HotSpot back on. This gives me my new IP Address so I can change accounts. I wasn't really getting any new numbers anymore until suddenly- all new number. A totally different format. Issue is this- I can connect and check my IP at IP Burger, then count to 10 and refresh the page. Sometimes it's a different number, which might be associated with another account already. In other words, my IP is changing randomly. Even crazier is that I can connect 2 different laptops side by side and get 2 different IPs. One was staying on the same IP, but the other was changing randomly. I thought I understood how this all worked, but this is blowing my mind. Guess I'm gonna have to just switch providers :-( |

| ilcarletto | 08-10-2016 08:19 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I did read your thread a few days ago but I really don't get the question... what are you asking for?
How you are going to get 2 different IPs connecting 2 different laptops side by side? |
| ScottieBoi | 08-12-2016 08:44 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering Well, I sure don't know. That's kind of the point of the post- to try to figure out what's going on |
Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering From what I read is, you have a Mifi and you are connecting 2 devices (2 laptops) to 1 Mifi and getting 2 different IP Addresses? |
| kingpin100 | 08-13-2016 05:48 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering Thats weird.. never heard or read anything like this.. Erase and reload your app... Sounds like your provider is the issue... I sometimes use PIA website to check my ip... idk |
| Speeder33 | 08-13-2016 08:45 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering Maybe try another provider? An MVNO may not be the best option |

Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I find it hard to believe a phone can give you 2 separate IP addresses while tethering. |

| Ebayorbust | 08-16-2016 10:38 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering The two different IP addresses is an error that is produced by ipburger.
It also does it with some UK providers - O2 being one of them.
I spoke to aspkin about this a while back and he is aware of the issue. His advise was to use another site for checking IP until the ipburger problem is resolved. |

| ScottieBoi | 08-17-2016 08:48 AM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I've only ever used IP Burger, as it is the site that we're instructed to use and I've never seen anything different. What does everyone use? |
Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I use Att prepaid for tethering & had this issue a while ago. All of a sudden one day all the old numbers were gone and a slew of new with larger ranges. Thought great more numbers, then discovered the IP was changing by the minute when double checking while using. Lasted a couple of days then the old numbers showed back up and no more multiple IP'S per minute. Week later the the large range of numbers started creeping back in sporadically and now seems permanent in the last month. My guess was some sort of update-change over to the system happened. But that's just my guess. |

But that's just my guess. | Crazy, cause that's exactly what happened. The crazy thing is this- If I use different IP sites, some are still showing the old numbers at the same time that the others are showing new number! I pulled up about 8 sites. 3 of them had my old numbers and the others each had a DIFFERENT IP ADDRESS! In other words, 8 sites, 6 different IP addresses. The 2 that were suggested here are showing the crazy numbers, just like IP Burger. The one that I used that was showing the correct numbers was- What Is My IP Address? IP Address Tools and More |
Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I did check a few different sites at once for IP address, some did'nt update or were slow it seemed to what my current IP was. Like a lag? It was pretty weird and for a few days didn't log into a few accounts out of fear of cross over. Seemed every time I refreshed a new IP would appear. Fine now with tons of IP"s to use! |

It's crazy. I mean like I opened all 8 at once and they had all of the different addresses. Crazy |
| Nissan2nr22 | 02-01-2017 02:16 PM | Re: Question about IP Address from Phone Tethering I'm having this same problem currently with at&t tethering. Ipburger shows a certain ip address.
Then whatip.com, whatismyipaddress.com, whoer.net, and all the others show the old ip's i used to get.
The one on ipburger is a different format of numbers and they change after a few minutes often. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:31 PM. | |
