vmWare ubuntu chromium memory

I was under the impression I only needed to allot ubuntu 1GB of memory. I'm using chromium with this setup and kept having problems. Using htop I see when I'm running chromium it takes up all 1GB of memory. Is this normal? I added another GB and have watched it get as high as 1.1GB of memory just from running chromium alone.

1GB of RAM is not enough for most modern OS. For both Ubuntu and Chromium, I would recommend allocating no less than 2GB of RAM

Check out xubuntu or lubuntu if memory's an issue for your computer.

I run a few Linux Distros except for Chromium, most of them I use around 2gb of Ram per VMWare, with Windows XP Lite I can run 1gb or less with no issues.

When running a portable browser do you just change your ip when logging into each stealth account? Also do you need to clear browsing data when done with each portable browser?
