Hi eveyone,

I was thinking about saving my virtual machines in my google drive folder. The goal is to have a permanent backup. However I am thinking about there being a problem with the vmdk files which are pretty big and would premanently upload.

Does anyone use google drive for his VMs?

It would be fine for a backup (not for running them) assuming your GD has enough disk space.

You could compress the files before uploading..

Hey, I am also interested in backing up my virtual machines in cloud storage.

Is there a way to automate the process of this? Like buying a WD 6TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage.

I travel often & the last thing I want to worry about losing is my external hard-drive with 10 of my virtual machines.

The problem seems to be, that if you run a few virtual machines in single file mode, every time you log on them there will be changes in vmdk file. That file can certainly be pretty big, so if you check all your vms on a daily basis its gonna re-upload the whole files each time.
