Default featured,bold,highlight etc.Worth it?

Are featured, homepage featured, gallery featured, bold, highlight, etc. worth it or just a waste of money? I ask for each of these.

my opinion is a waste of money. its just ebay trying to suck more money out of the sellers pocket. i am happy with the results i get from just doing a normal listing.

It really depends. If you are stiffing eBay, then I say go for it. Just make sure your dues don't get too high - eBay will take action if one person owes them A LOT.

I think the only thing that is worth it is Highlight and maybe Bold. Other things are just a waste of your money.

Really depends. I've seen some great results from the featured listing, or at least on the old listing format. Currently it seems that until people get much more used to the new listing formats, they won't take as much effect.

We should all ban together and have a day once a month where everyone takes one of their non used eBay accounts and start listing all kinds of items using every feature and running up the fees on eBay! That would be fun.

Highlight, to me, seems to turn buyers away.

Highlight and bold cost ebay completely nothing. It's just a simply bit of adding HTML code. But it costs sellers a whole lot.

Ive had good results with featured plus. The one that puts ur listing on the top of the page your on. If you are selling many of the same things in one auction it is great and since I started using it instead of .99 cent auctions my my total sales are down a little but my profit is up. Some people would rather buy something now for a few dollars more then wait for the auction to end.

Yes. Featured Plus is pretty obvious the best option for money and attraction to your listing especially if you're doing multiple items or high value lots.

no offense to anyone here but one of the biggest wastes of time, other than trying to figure out an ambiguous ebay policy, is to ask people what upgrades are worth it. It totally depends on the item. You may be best served by subscribing to one of the research tools and letting it tell you what features are worth it. If bold items in your completed item search average more than the sum of nonbold plus the cost of bold, you may be better off paying for it, especially when you factor in the average success rates.

The only blanket statement I might make here is forget about listing more or using upgrades during fee sales- doesn't help you when everyone else is doing the same thing most of the time in my experience and the experiences of everyone I know who sells on ebay.

Featured is a great thing to test on items with enough interest, quantity, and list price. For the life of me, I can't figure out why someone would gamble with the upgrade though on a cheap product with small quantity but I see it all the time. Might as well buy a mystery auction lol

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh- I take that back. Biggest waste of money is buying the "it might just maybe land on the home page but probably not" upgrade lmao
