no offense to anyone here but one of the biggest wastes of time, other than trying to figure out an ambiguous ebay policy, is to ask people what upgrades are worth it. It totally depends on the item. You may be best served by subscribing to one of the research tools and letting it tell you what features are worth it. If bold items in your completed item search average more than the sum of nonbold plus the cost of bold, you may be better off paying for it, especially when you factor in the average success rates.
The only blanket statement I might make here is forget about listing more or using upgrades during fee sales- doesn't help you when everyone else is doing the same thing most of the time in my experience and the experiences of everyone I know who sells on ebay.
Featured is a great thing to test on items with enough interest, quantity, and list price. For the life of me, I can't figure out why someone would gamble with the upgrade though on a cheap product with small quantity but I see it all the time. Might as well buy a mystery auction lol

Oh- I take that back. Biggest waste of money is buying the "it might just maybe land on the home page but probably not" upgrade lmao
