Terapeak still useful?

Newb here, recently read the stealth guide and it spoke about terapeak, however from my understanding the stealth guide was released in 2010.

I have capital and need to purchase the latest up to date software necessary for me to find products to sell as I have a financial deadline I have to reach extremely soon

Is terapeak still good or is there a new thing, thanks.

Terapeak is an excellent source of data. The only one I am aware of, actually.

Your second statement concerns me. Don't get me wrong, I certainly wish you the best in achieving your goals, but business does not usually work that way.

I use terapeak myself and it is awesome if you know how to use it.

Like Jeff, your comments tell me you are in a rush and with any business those who rush into things even with terapeak make mistakes and lose money.

Terapeak works very well.

Be careful of any business venture with a 'deadline'.

You must have a contingency plan if your account becomes

DEAD

Terapeak is still used by many people.

Financial deadline...sounds sketch -

My question would be do you have any experience selling on ebay in the past?

If you did you would already have an idea of product in mind.

Guessing you do not and this can be extremely rough for someone to just walk onto ebay without a niche product that has not already been tested.

Ebay is not for investing money with no experience with products and sales on ebay itself.

Sorry i meant I have financial deadlines in real life as in owing people money, I have sold items on ebay before yes, but only novelty items around the house, and that is the niche i will probably be looking into, non branded novelty items.

Thanks for terapeak feedback

Terapeak is a great tool to help with your research.

As is this forum to help run your ebay business.

Just make sure you put your plan/goals on paper, and follow it.

No need to wing it.

Just be business smart and do not invest a ton of money and lose money knowing you could use it to pay someone.

Part of running a business is taking risk but when it comes to owing other money investing must be done with some planning, facts, research etc.

Be smart and make good decisions and you will be ok.

The potential problem that I can see is this: Many factors come into play when determining the success or failure of a business, especially on a marketplace as competitive as eBay. Vagaries of the market, changing consumer tastes, customer problems, competition, etc. can all affect the outcome of a business plan.

Whenever I find a new niche, I prepare a mini-business plan. I calculate my product costs, shipping costs, estimated selling price, demand (number of sales) and try to figure out my profit on a monthly and yearly basis. Over the years I have done hundreds of these. And NOT ONCE has it worked out exactly as planned. Some niches did better than I planned, some did worse and a few were total losers.

So, when someone tells me they have a plan to sell on eBay to make $x by such-and-such a date, I get nervous. Experience tells me that it may or it may not happen.

Re: Terapeak still useful?

Anyone know if there is a potential to link accounts with Terapeak?

Re: Terapeak still useful?

It is very easy to see what price the product is selling at and what's the average price. There is really no need of wasting any money on TeraPeak. Go and have a look through the completed listings and you'll have your answers simply answered.
