Installing Windows 8 on a new computer from a partition...
 

Ok, I have heard the horror stories of windows 10 spynet, cookie tracking, wifi sharing etc nightmare. I bought this cheap 300 dollar yoga flex 3 that runs on celeron, regular sata hdd. Restarting it up is SLOW. But one great thing is that it still uses windows 8, which is not as bad as windows 10. It even has a seperate partition of a clean install of windows 8 on there. If I were to buy a new computer, the more expensive yoga for example, you guys think I can use this partition and reinstall windows 8 on that windows 10 machine? I guess I would have to download new drivers from lenovo's website or whichever pc maker's website to make all the hardware work.

Do people still download drivers anymore? LOL, my last stealth computer was windows xp, and every OS after that is a Mac.

Yes drivers are still needed just in case Microsoft did not have the drivers included when you install the OS. If you didn't know Windows 7, 8, 8.1 etc.. come with drivers but not all so you would have to download beforehand in case you encounter a driver problem. The most important driver is the LAN/WLAN because this allows you to connect to the internet. Without it, you would have to use another computer to download or research on the internet.
