Accounts Linking by Photos
 

Hello everyone,
I know eBay linking accounts by photos, but my question is, I'm planning to open another account and selling the same products. I'm not gonna use same pictures. everytime i list an item I'm uploading a new photo. but I'm gonna use the same camera/smart phone. would the same camera/smart phone will link my accounts even though i upload different pictures? Kindly advise. Thanks

Yes, the same camera will link accounts unless you remove all the exif data from the images. Use a program like batchpurifier to clean the pictures before using them on ebay.

Just remove the Exif data from the images, use a different backdrop, description, title etc. and you'll be perfectly fine.

lovely stuff, i was just about to ask the same.

hope you dont mind me butting in on the thread, but ..

does the same apply if they are not photos as such, all my old pre suspension listings were T shirts templates made on corel draw, would they still need to be treated the same as photos from a camera / phone

ie, they were designed by software so im a tad confused as to if i need to redo the whole lot

If you take pictures from the same cell phone, is this something they can see and ultimately link you?

Yes, its certainly a factor. Compiled with other facts that could link you.

All these little things like keeping track of IP, removing EXIF data etc. you get into the habit of doing after a while, it becomes second nature.

Batch Purifier is a great program for stripping the info from photos

I would say try to make everything new. That will mean a re-do.
