Ebay tracking and Logging in different acct
 

Many posts have mentioned abt ebay tracking ip have some questions.

1) If the wan ip is 206.222.146.246 and user just changes the internal ip from 192.168.1.64 to like 192.168.1.91 would this gets accts to link up? The wan ip remains the same but just the internal ip is different. For those who logging multiple accts at the same time, do they off their modem everytime they logging to a diff account or just change the internal ip would do? Turning off and swtiching on the modem to change the wan ip every of logging in to different accts makes very inconvenient. Imagine you have 30 accts and re on the modem that much.

2) Some user post abt ip tracking the reuse the same ip when logging but the thing is WAN IP is assigned externally and how to reuse the same ip? Everytime the modem is on, there is a diff wan ip.

3) If the wan ip does change just change the internal ip would replying to buyer qns on ebay system would get acct to link?

but isn't this only changing the internal ip only and not the wan ip?

using speedtouch modem possible to get back the same ip address? there don't seems to have a manual input for the ip address.

If you are referring to the first post in that thread, it should work *IF* your modem plugs directly into your computer. That will *NOT* be the procedure if your modem plugs into the WAN port of a router.

If your modem connects to the WAN port of a router, there is a different procedure.

Using speedtouch manufacture by thomson. The staffs said that the modem has router integrated and the modem is direct connect with a firewire. And there isn't a wan port. In this case the method mentioned in the referred post should work? Because the WAN ip on connection does not change. So is this ok to just change the internal ip (Same WAN IP) to login to different accts and not get links?

Is this applicable to wireless internet connection?

Tried searching on the forum for this alternative procedure but most of the post uses ip simply and not differentiate wan or internal. Any url to the procedure?

If your modem is a combination unit, that won't work. I'm not familiar with your brand, so I can't say that IP hopping would even work for you. If there's any chance at all, it would be by spoofing the MAC in the router. I have discovered that most (not all) devices issued by an ISP will have the admin functions disabled.

I do know that I use a standalone Linksys router (have used one everywhere I have lived) and no matter what modem I have had to use (Motorola, Scientific Atlanta, RCA, etc.), I hop IPs by changing the MAC in the router and then reset the MODEM (not the router). Works like a charm.

If you try the method from the other thread, go to IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup and view your INTERNET IP ADDRESS. That's the address the rest of the world sees. Your internal LAN IP may look different (192.168.1.101 or 192.168.1.127 or etc) and it won't matter to the world. You need to be able to change WAN. So, try the other method, then IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup, then change something and IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup again, to see if your WAN IP is still the same, or if it changed. If it did NOT change, you need to try something else or you will be linked.

Try change the ip, subnet or mac address but the wan ip remains same.

If wan ip is what matters to ebay than why would others want to use the method (change internal ip) mentioned in the other post? Just change the wan ip and that would do to prevent link. Isn't changing the internal ip extra job unless they are use to change wan ip?

If wan ip is same is possible to

1) logging to different auctiva accts to list stuffs without getting link? Quite a number of post mentioned that the listing would be from auctiva rather than user com. Would auctiva forward their log to ebay?

2) download different ebay message from different acct into mail client and reply them.

Paypal seems to team up with gmail. When logging to paypal and enter email address to pay someone, there is suggestion of possible history email address and they all from gmail address book. This point out to another possible link that is using mail client to download and reply mail, all address mail send to goes into the gmail address book and paypal would possible knows and accts linked.

Then your provider has probably give you a static IP address. Or you are changing the MAC on the wrong device.

If your cable modem connects to your computer without a router (internal or external), then changing the LAN IP will change the WAN IP. Usually.

You are misperceiving that. Your gmail address book does not communicate with Paypal. Paypal keeps a history of who you send money to. When you send or receive, it sends you an email. When you go to your email, if you reply to a sender or a receiver, gmail will add them to your contact list. But only if you are logged into gmail and reply to an email notification.

The sticky part here is that Paypal send the notification to email and says Paypal sent it. If you show details of sender, you will notice that sometimes the 'reply to' is not a Paypal addrees, but instead it is the actual address of the buyer/seller. THIS IS THE PART THAT HAD YOU CONFUSED. It is simple and innocent. There is no information sharing between google and Paypal.
