Please Help - Opened eBay Email from Suspended Ebay Account
 

I may have done something stupid. I need someone to please guide me to remedy a possible mistake.

(I just found a simialr thread about PayPal, but I'm still nervous so ...)

I've had my sleath eBay account up for one month, sold about $2200 worth of stuff. No problems. Just the one account.

BUT ... today I was checking my old email associated with my suspended account and had an email from ebay about "account reinstatement". I opened it thinking they'd reinstated my account, but it was something about paying off the balance first (which is odd, since when my account closed they owed me money).

Did I jeopardize my new stealth account by opening the email (the html images were turned off I think). Or am I still ok? I have never tried to access my suspended ebay account. It's dead and buried to me (until today when I thought ebay ressurected it).

Wow I really hope not. I've been opening emails (gmail accounts) from both of my accounts on the same computer under the same IP thinking that there is no way for eBay to be able to tell the difference. I figured as long as I don't log into eBay/Paypal, I am safe. This was my assumption... I think I am correct but now that you bring it up I am not 100% positive.

with gmail its ok. I'm not so sure about any other email host.

I completely dumped my old account from my computer, will never check the email or anything associated with it.
I do not want to take any chances like that. I would think that if you did not click on any links in email and you were using gmail you would be fine but no way would I ever even check any emails from a suspended account.
I hope you are fine but it is just not worth the risk to loose a good account.

MC187 NOTICE: eBay Registration Reinstatement: Payment of Balance Due
 

I have had a lot of eBay accounts suspended over the last year and until the last few days I had never received a MC187 NOTICE: eBay Registration Reinstatement: Payment of Balance Due notice. Most of the eBay accounts that got this message were recently suspended but have no balance - with one exception. How low can they go??? Do they phrase this message -MC187 NOTICE: eBay Registration Reinstatement: Payment of Balance Due - just so you think that you might get reinstated if you give them money? I am not that stupid. They have tried to get the money through the bank account I had with them and most of these bank accounts were closed as soon as I was suspended. So they are in for a surprise. What is with this MC187 notice?
BTW - I asked this in another link but I will ask it again here - has anyone successfully been reinstated after being suspended for "Abusing eBay Policy" or any other reason for that matter? I did absolutely NOTHING wrong and they suspended me about a year ago. One day I was pulling down some serious money and the next it was gone. A lot of people don't think that this can happen to them but all they have to do is read this forum to find out that major Power Sellers doing thousands of dollars worth of business every month can have it all come crashing down on them with the click of a key. I thought that it was a mistake at first. I was terminally honest and a great Seller. I have recently tried to get the original suspension lifted but no dice. They still won't tell me exactly what I did to justify being banned.

Also, has anyone gotten a Cease and Desist order from eBay for opening up new accounts with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ informationv after being suspended? They have linked me dozens of times in the last year and I was wondering if there is any legal issues that could get me into trouble.

Cease and Desist order from eBay for opening up new accounts? LOL....that will never happen. Besides they could never "prove" it.
