seperate flash for seperate users

can anyone help me with this, I have seperate users, i want to have flah objects with some and not with others, is there a way of doing this, because at the moments i can only do it via administrator main screen and it with deletes all users flash or uploads it to all users.

is they key to make the user I want flash on , an administrator account?
If so how do i stop flash going on other guest user screens?

Not sure what you mean. Are you referring to a website, a blog, a forum?

With a website, I know you can use a java script to detect the client browser to see if it supports flash from the user end, and if yes/no, direct them to a flash version of the site or to a non-flash version of the site. You have to make separate versions, though.

I am referring to the seperate users you can make on windows, you know if you have multiple accounts and want to store cookies seperately

Your question is kind of confusing. I think you're asking if you can turn off flash cookies on some user accounts but not all? If that's what your asking yes you can, your settings for firefox will be seperate for every user account.

settings where on firefox lakeman, my head is buzzing

oompaloompa 05-04-2009 07:27 AM

thats exactly what Im asking, at the moment if I have flash installed on administrator main user it filters to all of them, where on firefox settings lakeman?

lakeman 05-04-2009 07:37 AM

Sorry it's not through firefox. You would do it that same way you normally would turn them off. I once turned mine off by going here, and unchecking allow 3rd parties....

Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Global Storage Settings Panel

I see, so you need to have flash turned on and then block it recording anything somehow, I need to get it exact,

at the moment I dont have flash player on firefox for any of my users, because I have so many accounts I have to share users, so to stop linking, I dont have flash installed (I change Ip obviusly between accounts)
BUT
on some users I only have one ebay/pp and on those I want pc to remember me so i dont have to keep verifying phone number, they are even asking for it when buying now, sometimes and it is a nuisance

can anyone help?

Ok, now I understand the question.

Firefox keeps a separate profile and separate set of plugins for each windows login. So, install the flash player plugin, then just install the flashblock plugin (and noscript) for firefox under the windows logins you want blocked. Then, under each windows login, open firefox, go to options, and set your cookies, cache, etc however you want them to be for that individual windows login.

thanks, so the flash player must be installed unde rthe administrator user , right?
then uninstall it on the users you dont want it on.

one other thing on firefox options, where next cookie options are under a few heading depending, which exact tabs?

Vicvelcro 05-05-2009 03:02 AM

I have flash installed on all my windows logins. I then install the flashblock and noscript plugins for each firefox in each windows login individually. If you want to allow flash for a specific firefox&windows login simply disable or remove or do not install those plugins for that particular firefox&windows login.

Cookies can be set from Tools>Options>Privacy - about halfway down that window.

Basically, each windows login is like a completely separate computer. What you do in one windows login does not affect other windows logins (for our purposes). There are technical exceptions like your desktop resolution and the All Users folder, though. None of those would apply to you.
