My ip changes every time i restart my modem but the first numbers lets say are 123 432 dont change but last ones do so my ip will be 123 432 xxx xx random numbers is that enough?
thanks

lakeman 04-13-2010 05:08 PM

Yes that is enough change, as long as one number changes, you are good. :typing:

bigmac 04-13-2010 05:57 PM

alright thanks alot another quick question i live in a small provience of 130 000 people only use a few post offices do you think they would link me by that?
thanks

Ghost 04-13-2010 06:36 PM

eBay's computers wouldn't link you, but if they review your account *manually* for whatever reason and you're selling the same things/descriptions, pictures are identical/etc.. then they MIGHT link you up that way. As long as you take it slow and follow the Stealth Guide it shouldn't be an issue at all though.

bigmac 04-13-2010 06:38 PM

thanks for the advice!

Why are you unplugging anything?

go to START>RUN and type cmd. At the command line type ipconfig /release Then hit ENTER. Next, type ipconfig /renew and you should get a new IP address from the router.

lakeman 04-22-2010 08:10 PM

Fatty, I also have AT&T DSL and ipconfig/ relase does not change my ip. I change my ip through my router by changing the MAC. Unplugging the modem also works, like Brendaleigh does.

DogFacedBoy 04-30-2010 10:43 AM

I always thought that if you had an IP address in one state and created an account in another state that was a death knell...or is it?
Is it better to set up in your actual state, let it sit a while and then change the address to another state?

lakeman 05-01-2010 06:48 AM

Like I said, that does not change my ip, I'm not the only one either..

No that's not all I type. Lol

SevnSins 05-01-2010 09:06 AM

For att dsl, you can change the ip, and there is a tutorial on here for doing so. if you have the all-in-one residential gateway used for att uverse, you can not change it. if I'm wrong, please do tell. i loveed their tv service, but need the ability to change the ip freely sa you do. I've worked at att, know people at att, and have talked to a half dozen att techs, all say the system is designed to lock down the ip address because the tv runs off the ip address. if you change the ip address, you lose tv connection, and have to call in to have it reset.

You can argue all you want, but changing the ip on that box is a lost cause.

SevnSins 05-01-2010 09:10 AM

Sorry, wrong thread. My post was for the uverse thread. Damn phone clicked the wrong link. LOL!

Vicvelcro 05-15-2010 02:59 AM

ipconfig /release only releases the IP of the device your PC is directly wired to. If your PC is connected to the modem, it gets a new internet IP. If your PC is connected to your router, you get the same LAN IP that the router already remembers.

how easy is using a VPN

can somebody, in bullet points summarise the stages it is used?

Vicvelcro 05-22-2010 09:42 AM

If you intend to use VPN to access ebay and Paypal, talk yourself out of it. Bad idea.

I know many people use VPN for their ebay and paypal account, there is no problem sure

Vicvelcro 05-26-2010 11:30 PM

There is a problem with VPN in general. There are a very small number of VPNs that are not black-listed by them. If you find one, it doesn't last long. As soon as they find out, you're done.
