Ebay acc restriction
 

Hi there guys , I'm having an issue which is whenever I create a new acc , and list something , after 30 minutes I get a message from ebay saying that I need to contact them to verify my acc..... I never had that issue before , It started to happen this week... before it was all ok , I created accounts , then listed auction and everything was perfect... Can you tell me what I am doing wrong ? I am using different ip's for each account that I create + different number... Is it because my MAC is the same all the time ? Also my friend created himself account today on his pc and listed the same auction and his auction went through without any issue...

It's hard to say what exactly (if anything) you're doing wrong without you detailing every little step you're taking when you create accounts.

For what it's worth this is a fairly standard restriction accounts are hit with in USA when they go to list their first item. We frequently have to call in and answer questions to get a new account restored - then it's smooth sailing from there. The questions they ask are easy. For example:

"What kind of items will you be selling?"
"Where are you sourcing the items you'll be selling?"
"Do you have the items in your possesion?" (not dropshipping?)

You might as well try calling in to get these accounts restored before just trashing them.

I am trying to create UK accs as I was always doing it.. never had that issue before... I don't know If it's worth to call them as I am selling keys... so What will I tell them ? :/

Wait 2/3 weeks before listing and you wont run into that issue

I understand you're UK. I was trying to explain that this type of account restriction is no big deal since it's very easy to get around. I can't say for certain if the process is exactly the same in the UK. From what you've described though I can only assume it is since this sounds exactly like the new seller account "call-in restriction" I've seen many times on US accounts.

Don't tell them that you plan to sell keys, lol. Just tell them you're trying to make extra money by selling items around your house. Say you will have everything you sell in your possession and you will post all of the items yourself. They aren't going to come back and check your account weeks later to make sure you were being truthful.

Also FWIW this restriction never goes away once you get it, until you call in. I've seen it on brand new accounts and accounts I made and then waited several months to sell on.

But I have already listed an auction with the keys.. so How can I can tell them that I will sell something different ??

Are you able to cancel that auction?

It's always recommended to start out with lower risk stuff. Trying to list a key as your first item could be what triggered this.

If you can't take the auction down you will have to think of some kind of logical explanation for why you would be trying to sell the key.
