Activity: 0% Longevity: 91% | | BetterPrivacy FireFox Add-on - MUST HAVE FOR STEALTH
This has been mentioned briefly in a few posts. I would like to change that. This FireFox addon is a lot better than the other addons that are out there to eliminate Flash cookies.
The program is still being developed.
It also disables DOM storage
It is VERY customizable to fit anyones needs.
And its FREE BetterPrivacy Home - Protects against Super Cookies
Download it before you go stealth

What about the continuing bugs with FF? I am becoming less happy with FF over this year and would not want another add-on if it was to create problema

I currently use Objection. Can you be used together, or does this one cover everything in Objection?

Right now, very low risk. eBay/PP/Amazon are ALWAYS stepping their game up though. So I wouldnt want to be the one who didnt prepare and gets completely screwed over it....

how can I tell if LSO are being left by ebay/paypal?
Ive run tests and it seems gmail or google and also ebay are leaving LSO.
How do we know if ebay are using LSO for linking purposes right now, it may just be a marketing tool - any definitive feedback on this?
Are there any LSO add ons for IE?

LSO cookies are not good, imo. More invasive than Flashcookies and from what I have read have the potential and ability to determine far much info like computer's name and directory paths. They 'see' how you surf the web, your viewing habits..
This is not suitable for my usage. My paranoia does not do well with these sorts of things, The likes of ebay& amazon might have them as a marketing tool today: but if policies change in a as yet undefined time, who can tell what the LSO cookies will mean in terms of stealth. What might be there to do damage?
I think for safety ( at this time) it would be better to set the Better Privacy preferences to automatically delete LSOs on exit from an application. DOMstorage should be disabled as well.
There may well be no problem but better to be prepared now

how do you set the Better Privacy preferences to automatically delete LSOs on exit from an application?
does this add on also cover the risk mentioned elsewhere on flash objects?
what tracking doesn't it cover?

how do you fix this LSO thing? Sorry I have no idea what it means. I never worried about deleting ANYTHING because I use different user id's. I like to keep my history viewable for ebay so it doesn't look too fishy.
But I want to disable whatever it is you guys are talking about that goes beyond user id information. supercookies, etc....anyone have a step by step for dummies on how to do this? thx

If you don't usually worry about tracking, I'm not sure why your worried. If you use your user accounts properly, you really don't have much to worry about. Cookies, flash objects, and super cookies are user specific, so each of your user accounts has a unique set. If you don't normally remove them, it may actually hurt you to start doing so. I personally remove everything every login. When I start a new account, I get several verification calls, but their system eventually figures out that I'm "roaming", and stops reqesting verification.

Okay, I see. I thought supercookies were computer specific, not user specific. THEN I would have been worried!

They are user specific. I took a look at the folder it's pointed at, and it's looking at a user folder.

got flash disabled on all firefox browser and so no flash player can be used on any of my users as Ive only imported firefox - eg cant play youtube, as it says install flash..
most of my users are shared 2 seperate ebays per user - why , Ive got alot of ebays - these have better privacy loaded on
a few of my users are single ebay accounts - these are my important main ones, better privacy is NOT loaded on these BUT I can see my traffic lights on my account ebay, only on these accounts.
So, its nothing to do with adobe flash player settings etc, the traffic lights are triggered by LSO which are different and need deletion with better privacy (set under options, tick all boxes, delete upon cookie clearance at exit)
So, this means for me, before I installed betterprivacy, I thought I was safe with flash disabled, but I wasnt, all these pairings are linked.....
hmm wish Id known when I originally set them up.... I misunderstood it was flash player and adobe settings you had to watch mainly
best bet keep all users seperate but if you cannot. then install better privacy BEFORE start any accounts
I see traffic lights on a browser that has flash uninstalled IF betterprivacy isnt on there.
This mean that it is better privacy that blocks the traffic lights, as opposed to not having flash installed
Whats the best LSO cleaner or blocker for IE?

IMO, you should switch to FireFox.
I use CCleaner as a startup cleaner when my computer boots, but the tools available for FireFox are very useful, and there are new ones constantly being made.
