Opened emails with images showing- are my accounts linked?
 

Hi,

I recently created a new stealth EB & PP account. Have set it up using a stealth IP and new user on my laptop.

However, I opened emails from EB & PP under my regular IP which is associated with another, active account. The setting for blocking images was on, but images were still displayed.

I haven't clicked on any of the links in the emails- just the images were displayed. Does this ultimately mean the two accounts are now linked as I have opened the emails with images showing?

(On a side note, not sure why yahoo is still displaying the images when I have selected for it not to):confused:

They can trace the IP which download the image. I doubt they would go that far. If the email are sent automatically, like a system respond, you will be fine.

But switch to gmail in the future. Who still use yahoo mail. :)

I believe gmail downloads the images with their own IP so they wouldn't let your own IP leak.

It could be an Internet problem or something wrong with you email.

I have a similar question. Can eBay link a new IP if I open an email from eBay related to a purchase on my old banned account? I was using my iPhone to look at emails and clicked the eBay email by accident. Trying to determine if my brand new IP is now unusable. Thanks in advance!

I think you both should be fine. Just be careful next time

One time is unlikely to cause heavy issues - avoid repetition
