eBay account about to be closed
 

I fear my real eBay account is about to be closed. They have linked to an account I have no idea about and eBay say its in my name and my email address and they keep asking me to confirm that its mine. This account was closed by eBay, but had never had any activity on it. So I don't know whats happening. Ive had my eBay account for 20 years, so I am gutted,

All the personal info and addresses etc are my real details. Should I change this info while I can?

Too late for that old love - phone them and, if you know nothing about it, tell them so

Have you been selling anything you shouldn't have?

Are you sure it is from Ebay?

I was on the phone to them when they made the connection to the accounts as my genuine account keeps asking for the User ID of another account using my address. I dont know what the other account is or what it sold (Ebay said there had been no activity on it), but Im very reluctant to put the username into the form that eBay keeps putting on my account. They asked me on the phone if the information matched my information and was is my account. I sell very low risk items that I make myself.

Similar Situation ,,, used Paypal to verify another ebay ( fee payment method) and later this ebay got banned. it affected my original ebay account .
I phoned and explained that i was just helping out a friend. Play dumb and innocent, if you can act ;)

I got scammed by a drop shipper in around 2005-2006. I had to register with them. This mystery eBay account was set up in 2009. Also I used back then and now 3rd party auction management sites like auctiva

I was far less aware of internet security back then.

Can't really do that to solve the situation sadly - information is all recorded :(
