Ebay Does not Recognize device message
 

Sorry for the cross post


Today after having my accounts stealth for a number of years, I get an message from Ebay while logging in stating that "It appears you have logged in from a different computer'. Asking me to verify via phone or email. Tried email but I never got the email but than asks me a security question like what was my first car. I did not create the account so I do no have those answers.

Nothing has changed since yesterday and it appears to also impact another stealth account I tried. I am not trying any others as I hope that someone might have seen this before. Hoping that it is just a glitch.

I checked the IP and it is the same and no updates to my Firefox occurred. Really stuck here. Any thoughts or suggestions??

Accounts setup.
1. Unique IP
2. Separate login via windows 7
3. Older version of Firefox
4. Canvas fingerprint extension enabled.

eBay seems to have reworked their CAPTCHA. This happened to me as well this morning on two different accounts. I noticed that all week I wasn't having to do the usual "quick security checks" when logging in. There was no CAPTCHA at all. This morning the CAPTCHA's came back and are more brutal than ever. :noidea:

Anyway, I've had this happen a few times in the past year. The solution is to try again tomorrow. Login to Paypal to print shipping labels for any unshipped orders you have waiting, and use your email account to respond to any unanswered messages while you aren't able to get into your eBay account. After a day or two they'll stop asking you to "confirm your account" and you'll be able to login as usual, in my recent experience.

If i get a CAPTCHA verification and it just get's on loop without being able to proceed, i simply use a different Browser and it works perfectly fine.

OP - if you are still around - eBay let me back into my affected accounts this morning.
