Help needed with IP address!

Hi there,
I am not very good with technical stuff and therefore am struggling to find out how to change my IP address. I am using a Belkin N1 Wireless router and am using windows vista as my operating system. Does this mean that I can change my IP address or not?
If I can change it please may you inform me on how to do it?
