Default Paypal closed, will new paypal affect ebay account

Hi,

My current paypal account is closed. The Ebay account is unnaffected. If I open a new Paypal account to receive payments from the original ebay account will they close the paypal account again?

I was in the same situation but haven't tried opening a new paypal yet, instead I use moneybookers and before that I would just keep my old paypal linked even though they couldn't make payments to it and then send a google checkout invoice telling them my paypal is down at the moment.

what buntz said is a good strategy, because if you open another pp and link it, it would be at risk of going down, however on ebay uk its is not possible to sell without a paypal attached, so if you dont get your paypal back, forget selling on it, keep it as a buying account and make new unlinked seller accounts and paypals..

What if I don't link the new paypal account and just amend my current store listings?

Ebay shouldn't really be affected by this should it?

I am already signed up with Nochex and email everyone with an invoice immediately, however some customers are continually asking for paypal!

Ebay won't allow that I tried, It will say you must select at least 1 payment option.

Usually it affects if they'r linked. And with new account and new sales you have to give PayPal supplier info etc.

Why is the account closed? Suspension, or you closed it?

Ahh seems like Im not the only one in this situation, I have had my paypal account locked for good now, the appeal was denied :(
and the eBay account says "no longer a registered user", but the funny thing is I had 3 accounts linked with that paypal account and they were all seller accounts. Only 1 says "no longer a registered user" the other 2 are fine.
I dont want to link a new paypal account to them just in case I get linked. So I might as well say good bye to those 100% real accounts.

Just use those paypals to collect off-ebay-transaction payments.

I don't think it'd be wise to link a new paypal to that account. Guess you'll have to start back from scratch.

above post... i guess what he means is just keep that account open for off ebay transactions ie website etc...
my advice
forget it... ebay + paypal = trouble... if one has gone down and the other has same info you are f**ked
you would be wasting your time trying to link another account to it
basically what happens these days...
ebay is suspicious of you but not violated any policy
so paypal steps in and says "risk"
both your ebay and paypal are now both gone unless you give them the docs they will surely ask for
if you cant do that, move on

I'm in the similar situation and judging from that date that this thread been updated, I would say that the information provided here is relatively new. Some of you did mentioned using that particular ebay account to sell and still having the locked paypal account linked. How is this possible? I'm saying this from my own personal experience, eBay requires a verified premium or business PayPal account in order to sell, hence, I can't even list now because my PP is locked for 180 days. Any suggestions? I did thought about opening another PayPal account, however keeping in mind the risk of getting the new PayPal account locked again , I am holding it back because I don't want to waste a bank account. So what do I do? I guess like most have suggested, move on and create a new seller account and PayPal account, make sure you don't go over the same mistake that got your PayPal account locked. However, even though I am saying this, I am still hoping that I can link up with a new PayPal account without having it locked again. I guess right now, all of us who's in this situation will appreciate someone trailed and tested to share their experience with us.

Same to me. If you pp is hold for 180 days, it means that your pp will be vailable for you anymore. I did phonecall pp service, they did not give me any reason to hold my pp account. What they said is that they r not happy to let me do buisness via pp according to the rules of pp. What a liar.

just dont worry about it, all the info in ebay and paypal is the same... i know these companies are stupid, but they ARE NOT THAT STUPID... if one is suspended both are gone... adding a new one wont help anything... start afresh with stealth, new ebay and new paypal
if you dont realize this you really need to read the Stealth Book, and also use a bit of common sense... come on... really, what you think they wont figure that out...

yeah..they can link it...so the only way to continue on using that ebay is to use a new payment method..such as a merchant account or something.
