TPM 2.0 - is it something important?
 

Recently been reading some articles about "trusted platform manager" devices which comes installed on all pc after 2016. And some articles mentioned it is needed for some banking apps, e-comerce platforms and government-costumer apps to work properly.
However it is quite muddy because no info if this thing can be used to identify machine online??
I recently found that i all the time had one but it was dissabled and now enabled it and found out can not dissable it any more (its windows 7).

Still can not understand - this is a chip for local machine to make it run securely, like for example binds hards drive to motherboard so hard drive can not be transfered to another machine, or this is something for machine identification purposes? Or i understand here something completely wrong?

Can anyone with knowledge explain this???

The heck... on windows 7? I don't see it on mine....

I'd do everything I could to delete it if it were me.

Its a physical chip which is mandatory for manucaturers to instal on every laptop after 2016, but some models started to come with it ~2013 already. So if your laptop is manufactured after 2016 then you have it for sure. If you use win 7 which is not updated then you should see it as unknown device in devices list. If you have latest updates then it should be under security devices tag. If you still see it as unknown device then just do not touch it because after enabling its not so easy to dissable.

I still can not understand is this a landmine for us or not really.. However i bought my laptop on 2015 and installed win 7 and using it nearly non stop and it never freezed ever, and do not know if that is related but after enabling that chip it happend first time - machine freeze in a middle of the work. Maybe just a coincidence.

However still can not find many info about this device use - every explanation is quite abstarct and muddy..
