pay as u go internet dongle is it safe ?

hi guys just wanted some advice.

im currently moving house so have no permanent internet acsess so useing one of them pay as you go internet dongles.

i always go on ebay but i have not been on ebay since my permanent internet has been turned off.

question is im a bit worried logging into my ebay account on my portable dongle as it will be a diffrent ip address so dont want to raise any flags and get limited.

so is it safe to login on my portable dongle? or should i wait till i get my proper internet back on.

thanks

Changing ip address will not get you limited. Most ip's are dynamic, meaning they change all the time.

Who is your mobile internet provider? I have one as well, but all the ones I saw had two year contracts with them.

And First Edition is right, IP address changing all the time is fine. It's your cookies and flash objects that should stay intact.

hi aspkin.

its a t-mobile dongle mate.

got the dongle off a friend as you got 30 days free, to be honest i can see why they gave it to me lol its like the old 56k days again waiting 5 mins for a page to load :-/ :smash:

guess cant really complain as its better than nothink, my new broadband is due to be installed next week, i do miss looking for a bargain on ebay, have not been on for a few days now as did not to raise a flag as i have used the same ip address for a few months now.

i knew it maybe 99% ok to use diffrent ip,s but just wanted to be sure, just did not want to give them any excuses to limit my account thats all.

i have only got to wait 7 days for my new broadband to be installed so just dont know whever just to wait or give into temptation & go on ebay useing my mobile dongle.:heh:

Yea if you use dial-up you have no choice but to go a new ip same as mobile cards..... If that was the case everybody would be suspended. I think it's only true if you use an ip that an account was suspended on but I dunno how true that is either. Because I'm sure some people were using public ip's ( library, coffee shops, etc.) and got suspended.

I used 4 different dongles, works good so far.

Oh I see, thanks.

I recently got a sprint 4g mobile broadband dongle and it's about the same speed as DSL when 4g is activated. Though the two year contract I don't like.

Maybe you should of looked at Clear 4g Wimax that's the company Sprint uses on thier 4g network. It has month to month contracts but only thing is that you can't switch ips like regular broadband mobile cards.

Well that makes it useless doesn't it? :)

I checked into it. They don't have 3G enabled like sprint does.. it seems. And 4G isn't always available so it's good to have a back up 3g.

I think I'll stick with Sprint for now.

Yea I agree .... any internet that you can't change your ip doesn't feel right.

Aspkin,

Be very careful with Sprint mobile broadband. I don't want to get into why I know this.... but Sprint broadband cards cycle through the same 10 or 15 ip's every week when you change them. There are very few devices with Sprint that do not do this.

You may have one of the good ones... if you're getting more than 15 ip's that you cycle through.

Hi aspkin
What is flash objects and how to get rid of them, is it just by deleting cookies and temporary internet files?
Thanks
