Is there any way to be tracked through external hard drive?
 

Just curious, going stealth here, about ready to go, have new computer and everything set up etc., now I'm going to be transferring a bunch of files from my external hard drive, music, old account excel files, word files, etc. Is there anything in there that can be tracked? I wouldn't think so because its all files nothing internet related, just wanted to double check, would hate to screw all of this up over that.

I would not be concerned about that in any way.

There is no evidence that eBay tracks users though hard drive serial numbers.

I believe I read on this forum that someone got traced by the name of the computer, but I am not sure.

For instance if your drive is call Sandy's Computer, you might need to change it to Williams2841493:

so having a name that say kevins computer and changing it to kevins other computer is prob gonna red flag right? haha, i had a friend that changed to something like that and I was like, wow, your really being sneaky huh?

They may do it manually when necessary but not from the bots. If that was the case then everyone that bought and sold between their own accounts would be suspended, which Ive done plenty of times and haven't been suspended.
