Gmail emails ok to answer?
 

I'm the cautious type but I hate doing this every time I answer emails ( change IP's etc...). Most of my accounts are gmail acc's. When it's time to answer and I press respond I must log on to ebay to answer this way. I work from a suspended account and it's user account. Is it safe to answer with the respond button?

press reply under gmail, not repond yellow button of ebay.

that way it goes straight to buyers email via ebay.

gmail isnt supposed to show IP, but if you want to be extra safe, amend your ip before responding, there have been gmail glitches n the past..

The whole thing about it going through ebay is what bothers me, second a gmail glitch is not workable for me. Amend an IP? You mean change it? Then might as well do what I was doing. I can't believe there isn't a definitive answer here.

you want a definitive answer - gmail is safe method of response.

or you want all angles, there were some reports in the past of gmail glitch where ip gets shown, if they were to dig deep in to html text, but this is only if they were looking out for you in particular, very unlikely..

an example is if I answer a question and it goes to memberxyz@ebay.com , I will then switch ip to answer a question under another account, just in case. This is only an issue if you are answering buyer queries before thy purchase, ie you havent got their email yet. Or say Ive been logged in to ebay under one ip, I may want to change ip before I answer a question thru gmail on another account.

Thanks Oompa. I get those yellow buttons all the time. I noticed that a snidely question within those emails follows with a Mc pull of my listings.

Buy the way I tried this for the first time. It didn't work. The message was ' this type of action can not be preformed on a blocked account' That's pressing the 'respond button'. Maybe sending emails through suspended accounts works in the UK only. I never do my work on a stable user/ebay account, so I don't screw up. Back to the norm.

I wasnt refering to a suspended account, just an normal active one.....
