bank accounts for paypal

I don't know if this is the appropriate category for this. I want to open 4 stealth accounts. I'm wondering should I open 4 bank accounts at the same bank? I was planning on opening 4 accounts with chase.

Simple answer: Better to open accounts in different banks.

Reasons: Many

romeo216 06-09-2010 12:51 AM

but i've read some banks won't take transfers unless the names match.

Vicvelcro 06-09-2010 01:04 AM

This is true. You may have also read that using similar info on too many accounts can lead to being linked. If you open several accounts with the same bank in a short span of time, the account numbers will likely be very close together. If you create several new ecommerce logins in a short span of time and they use the same bank with very similar account numbers, you run the risk of being noticed. Also, if you develop an issue that concerns your bank, all of your accounts could be affected if they are with the same financial institution. Choosing different providers will spread your risk and thereby increase the chance that something will be working even if something else fails.

Eggs and basket, not all in same...

Romeo, here's the thread about the banks that allow and don't allow transfers unless the names match.

Thank me. :)

Good one VIC, I never really thought of that. So let's say I want to open a few accounts under TD Bank. Would you recommend doing it all on the same day or what?

Vicvelcro 06-09-2010 01:23 AM

Not on the same day. Maybe one per day per bank until you accumulate the quantity you need.

Or do like me: have a few bank accounts made and sitting with a few bucks on deposit, so when you need one - you just reach in the sock drawer and grab the next envelope with a fresh account already set to go.

There is a LIST of banks around here OR on the stealth book that tell you what ones REQUIRE the name to match (surnames are usually appropriate too)

Great info for people making banks themself.

There is also the viable option of VBAs.
