Default LINKING by Pictures

I do know that you are supposed to use new pictures for your new items, however , I was wondering if there is any way to " fix' the pictures , to make them look different to ebay

for example - recrop them so they have different size/pixels.
or write new tags??
upload to a picture hosting site? then download them to ebay from there

any experiance witht is anyone???

I ask as I usually had about 700 listings at any one time - and I reall really REALLY , do not want to have to take those pics over if I don't have to

thx

Strip every bit of meta data out of the pictures and you might get away with it on a new stealth account.

I'd think that making any changes to the picture is sufficient.
You either do that or strip the Meta like HWGA said.

I don't think you need to do both.

The killbots are not scanning them for content.
They are scanning them for properties like name, byte sizes, and any meta data embedded that reveals stuff like camera number, brand and geotags.
So if you use a pic on a suspended account named nike.jpg that was 32.876 bytes and 420x345 pixels. The killbots will look for the same.

So I gather that if I strip all meta tags and crop each one before I list it , I should be fine...??..

Could you not just change the pictures name?

There's a free program called mobile photo enhancer that is designed to make pictures from camera phones better looking, BUT it is cool because it can resize, crop, change the brightness or contrast etc. on multiple images all at once into new pictures.

This would be great for your 700+ listings.

This is the link.

I'm still curious to know if uploading the pictures on tinypic or photobucket would be enough on top of putting them in your description? eBay fees are high enough to pay for pictures

I host my own pics and just embed them in description. Cheap hosting and that way I can have 20 pictures if I want. Now not ideal if you have 1000 listings, but for listing same items over and over its great

As for image data, I use photoshop to crop/re-size and it removes all the data. Or better yet, I made a macro within photoshop that with one click adds copyright "username" into picture data and saves

If I'm using a picture from the Internet that was digitally created (not taken from a camera, etc), do I still need to "change/strip" the image before uploading it to eBay?

Does this method indeed remove all the data? It seems that throughout other threads there has been some questioning as to whether or not this is enough to remove traces. Using an exif reading program, it would be nice to get a definitive answer on the table for everyone.

thanks for that , I will have a look at it. It sounds similar to generic picasa or photo software that comes standard with many pc, but the multiple pics function sounds good

Then this topic is NOT as prevalent for you; however, unless your picture is of something HIGHLY sold on eBay...you should still do it to be on the safe side.

Photoshop will not remove all data automatically, no. It will leave camera model etc. If you want it 100% clean best to use a stripper. I embed my own data in photoshop via a macro, so it does what I need. But to strip an image bare get a stripper

Use PIXresizer, it will remove all data exept the owner (computer name and user name), but these will be different if working on different computers or windows profiles.:D

Use the same photos, but put your account name (a different one for each account, obviously) somewhere in the pictures, like a copyright or watermark. It will automatically change the filesize of the file and eBay will recognize it as a different picture. They can't recognize what's in the picture, they can only recognize the filesize or the MD5SUM which is changed automatically when you change only 1 pixel.
