Verizon DSL-dynamic IP?

With bad credit, the Verizon mobile broadband is like 80 bucks a month. That's after paying 120 bucks for the USB stick. No thank you.

Is Verizon DSL dynamic IP?

From memory now, I wanna say my IP changed every time I changed my MAC address in my wireless router and rebooted everything...I'm sure someone here will know better than I...

Yes it is! Even though it's expensive it is the quickest way to get a new IP and very time consuming when handling multiple accounts. You can get the USB for cheaper on eBay and they have mobile broadband prepaid plans.

Carrier, USB Cost, Monthly Cost, Data Limit, IP Type, Network

Verizon, $100.00, $50.00, 500MB, Dynamic, Verizon

Virgin, $79.99, $50.00, 300MB, Static, Sprint

Ready, $49.95, $25.00, 300MB, ???, Sprint

AT&T, $79.95, $50.00, 500MB, ???, AT&T

Cricket, $79.95, $40.00, 5GB, Dynamic, Sprint/Verizon

Clear, $60.00, $40.00, Unlimited, Dynamic, Clear

DataJack, $99.00, $49.99, Unlimited, Dynamic, T-Mobile

T-Mobile, $49.95, $24.99, 200MB, Dynamic, T-Mobile

Verizon DSL *DOES* use dynamic IP's.

Att does use "dynamic" ip's as well, unless you speciaifially state you want to order a "static" ip.

Also att's "static" ip addresses are really not "static", they are considered ""sticky"" ip addresses.

Yo can buy 8 a month for 15.00 from att.

You will basically have 5 to use, because 3 are for gateway and router, so that leaves you with 5 for the month,

But if you dont pay for "static" with att, you will automatically recieve ""dynamic"" with them.

They change every few weeks, not every reboot.

Although you can change it by the ipconf trick...

Hope that helps..

With DSL, when does the IP change? Do I have to turn the computer completely off or what?

It changes when you unplug/restart the modem.
