AOL-- Tips/ Tricks! RANDOM IP ADDRESS...
 

HI-
IN speaking with an AOL Technician, I was given a Valuable website.
America Online - OldVersion.com

It's www (dot) oldversion (dot) com /program.php?n=aol

--This will give you access to the Older Versions of AOL.
-- IN the new 9.0 + 9.0 Security, sometimes the random ip's do not always come up.
-- Also in the older versions, some old tricks are still there!
-- Also, you can go back to version 1.0 if you like, I am using 7.0 + 8.0- they seem to be the fastest + most reliable for dial up, connecting at 40-52,000.

- When you access the older versions, the ENTIRE Email headers are there as well, very easy to pick up (if needed)..
-- When you download- I choose- (adding another version) to my pc,
__ I let it go into c:/programfiles/aol7.0... (whatever the default was)-
--Then, i told it i already had an aol acct- entered my aol user name + password, and it installed.
-- I use version 8.0 on a desktop as well, also gives me random ips-- seems to be the same for each user--
**NOTE--you can add like 6 aol users, names in addition.
** So- you download at Highspeed- dsl/cable- install- then plug in your phone cord- let it find your modem, and gather your local numbers..

I will have to try dl'ing the older version...I think I have the newest on the machine I'm on right now and I keep geeting the same IP as going right through IE (that's not good)
I'll play with it and report back

When I installed the new software the AOL browser icon on my desktop was replaced with an icon for AOL desktop. I didn't notice anything other than appearance...I was still asked to log in which is where I got a bit confused though...
Was wondering why all of my favorites from IE "mysteriously" appeared in AOL...
Now I know

I take it these older version dont work with Vista :mad: because i tried both 7.0 and 8.0 and no web pages will load up through them it just has a * on every page i goto so i guess im stuck useing 9.0vr :(

thanks for that i found that the new version is very very bloaty, and when i used the browser it did not mask my ip, ill try this older v8 and see how i got, i have a question does the aol browser mask your ip even when using broadband direct connection or just dialup ?

i finaly got the older versions to work on a xp pc of mine but still got the same 2 ips :( but they do change every so often but it takes days before they finaly change sence i stared useing them it had 2 sets of ip's for about 2 weeks then it changed a few #'s on them and i have 2 more sets of ips replaceing the 1st 2 sets so all in all i had 4 ips sence the past month and a 1/2

hi, every1, i am a new comer here. i followed the advise and used AOL browser for ebay listing work, so far, i get more than 5 accounts get MC010 A26 TKO NOTICE "...that a third party accessed your eBay account and used it to list items without your authorisation...." (btw, right now i am in china). just a question does ebay trace ip address even when you use AOL Brower??

I use broadband, how can i configure my aol
 

I am using broadband to connect to the internet, how can i configure my aol to change my ip. I am not in usa by the way, i live in Nigeria.

FYI info on this thread is outdated. AOL is not recommended for stealth.
