PayPal account - VPN?
 

I'm very sorry if this has been answered already, I have looked but cannot find the answer...

I recently got a PayPal and eBay account that were created from a U.S. (New York) IP address and the street address info on these accounts is also in New York. However, I live in Canada.

Can I use a VPN to log into PayPal so they do not see my CDN IP address?

As for eBay; I will be using Auctiva for eBay so the IP address isn't really a concern, however I think I might need to log into eBay once or twice just to configure settings. Can I also use a VPN to briefly log into eBay? I do know that eBay doesn't like VPN's but thought that I might be able to slip past them if I only do it once or twice.

If a VPN is not the answer for either of these scenarios, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, quick thought... Can I use my iPhone, through Telus 3G network (Canadian) to log into these accounts without the IP address being a problem?

Most IP ranges of well known VPN providers are blocked by eBay and PayPal. It's only if you go with a lesser know service provider will you be okay.

In your case it's better to use your iPhone via tethered connection then a VPN connection.

Download MyWi App. 5 seconds on airplane mode for each IP refresh, you can then use your iPhone as a portable wifi router. Works great.

There are also apps available to use so you can keep track of each IP you use.

Hey thanks for the advice. Sorry to say though, I am a little confused on how a wifi router will help me in this case. Am I missing something?
