Default The DO's and DONT's of connecting to Ebay "unsealthed"

There is is so much information on the site I think a list is in order to give an overview of when it is/isnt necessary to be accessing Ebay related information via a "stealth"ip (aka an IP address that you Ebay knows about & can record against your account).

Here are some of the ones I think I know & those Im not sure about.

Signing Up for Ebay/Paypal - Stealth
Logging into Ebay - Stealth
Loggin into Paypal - Stealth
Checking Email via web browser - Unstealthed
Checking Email via Email Client App (Eg. Outlook) - Stealth
Posting Auctions through Ebay - Stealth
Posting Auctions through Auctiva - Unstealthed

I know there are other scenarios to add to the list or those that I might be wrong about. If you want fine grained detail, you can read various posts in the forum. But this should make for a quick overview offer some direction.

Tons of that info is in the guide straight up. Compiling info again and again in the forum is not needed I would say. You have to put some work into what you do.

Hell, I still haven't learned it all - hence my attestation to dial-up - but I still read around.

Not meaning to rag on you or anything but with your relative "newness" to the forum, you will find all the info - if you wish to post, go ahead =) All info is cool in my books if proven.

ive read the book and have read the forums. I find it information overload. There are posts and re-posts on the same topics. Its nice to have good info in a single place - if its possible with such a complex topic.

Ah ok I hear you - for me, I have no problems dealing with plethora of info but maybe someone else will take the onus and provide what you seek.

I can't even broach the subjects in their entirety since I consider myself far from superbly-versed in the art of dealing with eb ay and payp al.

Well it's not up to the forum per se to do that. The individual user should organize themselves into their best way to manage this ebay game.

Two factors contribute to the idea not having a great deal of merit.

The game changes frequently. What is in today is not tomorrow. Hence that info on the list may be out.
Secondly the users who might change that info have a life other than the forum. Our tenet is to provide a basis of facts to aid users. That is more than suitably and adequately done. We dont need to be coming to up-date a Hold Your Hand list daily. We already correlate much info given by all users, imho

Gonna be brash and quick here...
You can check your email by going through GMAIL and programming it so that pictures do not show up in GMAIL. (PP/eBay track you with a 1x1 pixel that tracks IP addresses...I know, I have one on my website too)

Auctiva is stealth in MOST scenarios, InkFrog is best IMO....it seems to be 30/70; however, in my experience, you can do EVERYTHING from IF.
