Responding emails?

Hey, I've seen this touched on few times but never actually answered (I think)

When you get a message on eBay, you get an email about it. Now it's mighty convenient to be able to respond right away from your phone or something, right?

Does it matter which IP your on with your phone? Can you answer questions for multiple ebay accounts from the same phone/IP?

I just don't feel like having to switch IPs, log in, and answer the old fashioned way... This way I could provide crazy fast customer support :P

Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks!

Yeah, this will link your accounts if you respond with the same IP.

Responding to messages like this is unreliable anyway, sometimes they don't go through.

Mark has it on both key points

1. it will show IP
2. It doesn't always even go through

This is one area where convenience needs to be set aside. Log into accounts with correct IP to answer messages

Alright thanks, I just saw that aspkin once said on a thread a long time ago that if you respond that way through the email that eBay somehow doesn't get it, and it just goes straight to the buyer. It didn't make sense so I just wanted to double check.

Thanks for the help!

It used to have the buyers actual email in reply. So you could reply direct just like any regular email. But now eBay forces it through their system. You don't get their email address now, you get user@members.ebay...

Yeah, so it's always handy to leave an email address in your listing to try and get more people using it instead.

I'm always relived to see the buyers email when I get questions about items :FF:

To be honest, if buyers message me through ebay I only really respond to important ones, it's just too much hassle otherwise. Not to mention the low percentage of buyers who actually bid/buy after answering their question.
