Deleting iPhone eBay app cache

Hi guys,

I need to clear all evidence ( cookies, cache etc) of a suspended eBay account from my iPhones eBay app. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in anticipation

I know if you go to settings, safari you can delete history, cookies and cache in there. But im not sure if that would delete all the ebay app evidence. Ive ran multiple accounts on my iphone ebay app for months now and ive had no problems at all. Also two old accounts i used to use on my iphone have been blocked but not linked. So you should be fine i think. But if you wanna be extra extra safe, only other way is to restore your iphone. Good luck

Even a factory default will not save you. Each iPhone has a unique identifier (IMEI and there may be more). So an app would potentially be able to tell if the same phone was logging into different accounts, no matter how many times u clean up your cache, history, and cookies. If nobody has been linked yet, that is good news.

I use android and just installed the paypal app, I will only use 1 pp account on it but I hope they dont catch me for changing IP.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. On honeycomb I have the option to clear all app memory. @above, does that apply to android too?

Deleting iPhone eBay app cache is very easy with iPhone Data Cleaner app. It can easily delete app cache from iPhone.

And yet, we still don't recommend people use the apps with multiple accounts.

Yes, but that wont change the phones IMEI number which is the issue when using the APP

What are you trying to do, reinstall ebay app as the OP was doing?

If so, a factory restore should suffice.

A factory reset and reinstalling the ebay app will not work. They will still end up linked via the phone's IMEI number.

Whilst apps such as eBay can collect an enormous amount of data, and therefore link accounts together quicker, they don't tend to.

In my experience, a factory reset does suffice.

I still wouldn't recommend the use of eBay/PayPal apps though, for the aforementioned reasons.

Why don't you recommend it when you are claiming it is fine to do?

Best to just keep the advise straight forward - best advise is just dont use the App

Whilst it's not an issue now, this can change very quickly should eBay decide to do so.

So whilst it is technically fine to do, it is not advisable.
